Two wonderful experiences with Dr. Kind! 1st was breast cancer surgery with Dr. Grissom. Both were attentive and talked to me for about an hour to learn who I am as a person before talking about the surgery. He even came into SF on his Marin day just to meet with me. That day when I arrived for my first appointment, his office had already scheduled my surgery, my blood work, my EKG, and an appointment with a primary care physician for a pre-op physical. He didn't fight me on my decision to use CBD for pain instead of opioids. Very gentle in the f/u appointments. 2nd time was to remove growth on my leg. Same experience! And the 1.5 inch scar is barely visible. I have clients who love him and referred me to him and I'm glad they did. He lives up to his name!

I had my procedure in 2009. He said it wasn't his fault that it didn't turn out well, it was cause I was fat. I have been in pain and it didn't turn out well for me.

Poor bedside manner, consistently dismissive of patient concerns. Unwilling to discuss and address complications from his procedures. If your surgery goes well, he's pleasant, but if anything goes wrong as it did with my breast reconstruction he is unwilling to discuss further and negotiate a treatment plan. I had concerns about dying tissue following surgery, and he did not order further workup, including imaging. There are many gray areas in the practice of medicine, but the best care comes from a place where both patient and doctor work together. He has consistently ignored my worries and observations leading to worsening health outcomes and poor cosmesis, which is salt in the wound of an already difficult breast cancer diagnosis.
