I tore my ACL at the end of May 2023, and had surgery scheduled for July 2023. Since apparently we now had a family physical therapist now (Kevin), I reached out pre-surgery to see if he'd be a good fit for helping me with my recovery. He's personable and welcoming, and immediately upon starting our session I understood the hype.
It's not enough to say that Kevin has a deep understanding of the intricacies of the human body. Imagine the scene in Bladerunner when the computer is told to "enhance": it can see into and past various layers of infrastructure and returns (impossibly) crystal clear imaging. That's how it feels when Kevin is explaining why your body is doing the things it's doing. Or, it's the same vibe as when you're a kid and Ms Frizzle shrinks the class in a Magic School Bus submarine and suddenly you understand the scale of the human body and various anatomies unseen.
Not only does he possess this impressive knowledge for himself, but he is able to communicate that information in an accessible way.
You can imagine, then, that I was mildly hesitant when Kevin suggested I work with a different PT at Graspmore, since his own schedule was very full at the moment. But given all the aforementioned info, I felt I could trust Kevin.
And BOY, could I trust him:
I could not be more grateful to have been next paired with Jordan. Jordan has the same impressive deep knowledge that Kevin has, is also so lovely and welcoming, and I have felt secure with him in every step (literal and metaphorical) of my recovery.
Jordan has this amazing ability to tease out useful information from my vague status updates (though I try to be helpful and be as exact as I can). The clarifying questions he asks are such that they guide me to give much more physical and environmental context than I thought I had.
The whole team, but especially Jordan, are such hype-men for my recovery. Even when I waltz in declaring "I did a bad job this week, Jordan, I didn't do any of my exercises," Jordan chides me gently, of course, but doesn't shame me for it and never ever makes me feel discouraged.
Jordan listens to everything I report about my physical progress before, during, and after our sessions. He makes little adjustments to help me when "my knee feels wobbly for this exercise", when "I think I'm guiding my recovering knee too much?", when "I realized I never learned how to run properly ??" etc. When a home exercise is too boring or I think I'm doing it wrong, he strikes the exercise or helps me improve my form.
When I'm nervous about something, or when I've fallen 5 different times down stairs when I'm traveling, he doesn't make A Whole Thing out of it. He'll joke I shouldn't travel anymore, but then he compassionately helps me identify the way my knee responded during that fall. The fact that I can fall a bunch and NOT re-injure my knee is encouraging.
I've been seeing Jordan about once a week for about 7-8 months at this point, so there's a whole lot more I could say about Jordan and the Graspmore team, but suffice to say I very much look forward to seeing him (and the rest of the talented and fun team!) each week. Could not recommend more highly.

I also mentioned to Jordan that I had gotten into skiing, learned advanced technique, and felt that I could be an even better skiier with more athleticism. Knowing this, Jordan incorporated bits of skiing-specific training into my exercises. As ski season approached, he gave me additional ski-specific exercises to prepare me for it.
The staff at Graspmore are very qualified and friendly. They make the effort to fully understand where you're at, where you want to be, and what needs to change to get you there. Not only do they resolve symptoms, but they help you to slingshot past them and become more capable than you were before them. It's both physical therapy and personal training at the same time. I couldn't be more satisfied with my results.
