Weve worked with Ian for many years from when we found out we were expecting to our kids annual birthday photos to our third childs newborn photos just this year! Ian always knows how to get us all to laugh and capture those unexpected and sweet moments, hes easy to work with, hes flexible, he has great ideas, hes punctual, and hes kind! He makes the photo taking process so easy - from the beginning to the very end. When we need some new ideas for poses, Ian knows just what will work in the location or situation were in! Hes also patient with kids (especially my rambunctious kid, fussy toddler and wriggly newborn). Hes had many years of experience so he knows the ins and outs of different situations and keeps efficiency in mind but also having a good time and feeling comfortable during a shoot is important. Every time we get our photos from Ian, I cry! He captures the essence of us! If youre looking for a San Francisco newborn photographer, hes it! He also does maternity, family photos, proposals, weddings he does it all! Thank you, Ian for capturing our familys journey all these years! Ian was absolutely fantastic to work with! He helped me in capturing a surprise proposal for my partner, and made the whole process as straightforward and stress-free as possible. And most importantly, the pictures turned out great! I came across Ian's website through searching SF-based proposal photographers, and it's clear Ian is one of the most experienced in the Bay Area. He was easy to coordinate with, communicative, and provided suggestions for the best way to execute the proposal. He captured the special moment with ease - my partner had no clue he was even there until after the proposal - and we received the final photos only a few days later. We loved working with Ian. Ian was recommended by our wedding coordinator. When we checked out his website he highlighted one of his strengths which was capturing candid shots. He delivered on that promise. Along with beautifully photographed staged photos, the candid shots really captured the way we were feeling and the fun we had all day and night. I would highly recommend Ian.

We hired Ian Chin to photograph our wedding and are SO happy we did! Our wedding planner recommended several photographers. We checked out their portfolios and Ian Chin's stood out with its original, striking photographs. I really can't say enough good things about Ian Chin. He is fun, friendly, professional, and was a joy to work with. He really took time to get to know us and our vision. Although he was everywhere at the wedding, I never even noticed him. The day was such a blur and I knew that the photos will be a lot of how we remember the event. Ian Chin delivered! The images are stunning and exactly what we were looking for. He captured the vibe and so many wonderful candid moments. If we ever have another event we need photographed I would go with Ian Chin in a heartbeat. I can't recommend him highly enough!
