Dr. Newman, Dr. Goldstein, and the team are wonderful! Extremely kind, caring, and knowledgeable. We feel very comfortable bringing our child (and future children!) here.

The doctors themselves are good - however it is impossible to get an appointment, the wait time is long to even get through on the phone (I'm talking around 3-4 attempts, waiting 10-20 minutes each time). This is not good if you have a sick kid.

Each time we came here, we had to wait upwards of 20 minutes. It's not fair that they overbook patients. They need to be more respectful of the time of parents.

Front deskMy very first time in the office. No acknowledgement. Stood there waiting and waiting. Front desk person was in front of me putting office supplies away. How about a simple hello? Medical assistant Good disposition for a pediatric office. Physician Guidance No clear guidance or decision tree and because of that felt like we got nothing from the appointment. Not the best use of time. Asked me to return to the office for more talking about the problem. I pay 100% for the doctors visit and I would not return just to talk out the concern -- that seems to benefit the doc (money for the practice) -- more talking certainly does not benefit my child. I would return if the physician had a clear idea of a decision framework or context for next steps. I felt so disappointed as this practice was recommended to me by another physician. Physician dispositionVery good interacting with young kids. Great with the little ones! And thank goodness because it's a pediatric practice. Cleanliness I did not see the physician wash his hands before touching my child's bloody wound. I did not see him wash his hands before the physical exam of touching my child's body. When I walked into the office he was already on his laptop. Maybe he washed his hands before touching his laptop? Bedside mannerI felt hopeful but by the end of appointment it felt disconnected and I was no longer felt comfortable talking to the provider. Takeaway Best thing about the appointment was that I was able to get a flu shot along with my child. No after visit summary was given either as compared with other practices. I left feeling like the time spent was unproductive. Will only return if in a dire emergency. Would rather find someone I felt like could partner with me. Next stepLook for another pediatrician.

I'm surprised the ratings aren't better. I just moved down to LA and am getting nostalgic over our pediatrician! Dr. Jennifer Wray took great care with my two kids, now 2 1/2 and 4 1/2, since they were born. She is calm, patient, and quick to follow up and leave messages in the patient portal. We miss her and the staff at SF Bay Pediatrics already.
