After my primary left her practice, I searched 1 1/2 yrs. to find a Dr. who was a good fit for me. Dr. Maybury's bio states he is a "partner in health and healing" to his patients. He believes in and practices integrative medicine. He's informed, caring, concerned, and listens. I highly recommend him.

Only select this doctor if you plan on being healthy. Dr. Maybury was my primary care physician for 4 years, occasionally advising on low-importance issues. However, when I really needed his help, he proved an abysmal choice. This October, I experienced a sudden onset itching, which only got worse for several days. I called Dr. Maybury's office and... he refused to see me, instead referring me to a dermatologist (with no examination). The dermatologist couldn't find anything wrong with my skin, so she ordered some blood tests that came back indicating a serious issue with my liver. Alarmed, I called Dr. Maybury, and ... he would only see me in 10 days. My results could have been indicative of cancer, cirrhosis, acute liver failure - but the best he could do was 10 days from now. Fortunately I live not far away, so I walked to his office, which was not very crowded with patients and was able to be seen. He seemed to understand my concern and recommended I get a CT scan the next morning in St. Mary's. His office assistant, who has been working with my insurance for 4 years, then wrote out a wrong order (for an MRI scan) and did NOT mention that it would require insurance pre-authorization. I found that out the next day, as I tried to get the CT scan done. Oh, and to get that pre-authorization required a call from Dr. Maybury, who was not working that day and had no other doctor covering for him. In short, as I was dealing with the worst health crisis of my life, I received ZERO support from that office. I had to find the specialists myself, I had to follow up on referrals myself, I spent hours on the phone with my insurance for issues that should normally have been resolved by the doctor's office. If you are looking for a doctor who can help you when you get sick - really sick - and could help you manage your care and find and see specialists - seek someone other than Dr. Ken Maybury.
