Server w attitude? Thats the place to go. Asked for a jack and coke, they didnt have it, but what i got was plenty of attitude versus, how how can we fix this? Strange.

Lots of bartender bad attitude. If that's the place you wanna go...join them. They can't say in a friendly way they dont have a jack and coke.

I stayed in room 33. Top floor. Corner room. Only one neighbor. Stayed for over a year. Daily, weekly, or monthly rates. Chill tenants. Mix of people. Old and young. Different ethnicities all living in the same building. Mostly locals. Some tourists coming and going. Mostly long term residents.  Great location. Way better than same accommodations one could find in the TL for example. I've seen other reviews where others have experienced having issues with bugs or pests, I kept my room vaccumed and clean and used tea tree oil just in case. I was never bitten up. I had a good experience living here for a while and I missed it when I left. Cozy old skool SRO style SF residential. Walk up. Restrooms and showers in hallway on each floor. Shared TV room on lobby floor. Chill tenants. Not drug infested. Chill to smoke herbs. No cigarettes inside rooms.

I spent 6 months in Castro. Both John and Monique were incredible in their hospitality towards me. The location is amazing, it's in the heart of North beach and the place is really clean. It was very easy for me to communicate about anything, I didn't experience any issue. I definitely highly recommend this place to whoever plans to to stay in San Francisco.

i am probably the oldest tenant , at the castro . problems do arise , from time to time , as in any business . they are promptly resolved .                     the management are friendly and helpful . they keep the residence clean and sparkling , as for an sro , this place continues , to be a five ***** .   located in north beach , transportation ,north , south , east , west .                 you will not find a better , sro , in  still" beautiful " , san francisco . the city of            saint francis .                           very affordable /                          enjoy your stay bird man / lands end , marin headlands , presidio , crissy field                       birds that flock together , stay together .
