It's a really beautiful monument as it is now. The Monumental Reckoning exhibit does a great job of telling the full story of what happened here. Price for entry: $0

Why was this marked as permanently closed when it's literally just a statue in a park that's open to the public? If you're into American history, maybe this monument has meaning to you. For most people, it's just another attraction in the park. For a few others in the evening, it's a popular parkour climbing spot.

Possibly one of the most overlooked yet spectacular monuments in San Francisco, the Francis Scott Key monument is just steps away from the deYoung Museum. And yet so many people pass by it daily without even glancing at it! Irrespective of what your thoughts are on the Star Spangled Banner it's definitely worth a look for its impressive classic Greco-Roman style.
