West Portal Lutheran School

My daughter is in her last year of WPL and although we are in a pandemic, I am pleased with her education and the school staff.  In light of the circumstances, the principal and teachers' interests lie in the children's education and well being.   They are encouraged to show their face online, participate and perform all the expectations as if they were there in person.  The teachers have done a remarkable job adopting a new way of teaching and in trying to engage students but also taking care of the social and emotional stress during these times.  I would highly recommend WPL because of they hold strong values in both education and care for the children.

During this pandemic, I believe the school has done a great job in transitioning to online learning.  My daughter has instructions from 8:30 to 3:00 everyday.  She stays captivated and is keeping up with her grade level.  Her teacher is loving, energetic, and provides a safe environment for the children while upholding the school's strong Christian values.

We were at the school Sep 2020 for a month. I had to work last min and raised my hand to let the teacher know then signed off zoom. The principal called me into the office that afternoon, said the teacher was upset and I was rude. I apologized to the teacher not because I was rude, but because it was her perception. It was not a good fit so we withdrew.Tuition is NON REFUNDABLE. You can pay monthly, 6 months or 1 year, so only pay monthly.  I received an attorney letter from the school to keep this incident to ourselves

Kindergarten sucks, pulled my kid out after a few months. Four other parents did the same thing. Below public school standard. A 4 point rating public school is teaching higher/harder curriculum. If you are looking for safety or fun go here.

WPL's Kindergarten is the best at bay area, it sets the highest stander so naturally these kids do not fit will not fit, so for these lazy parents, focus MORE on your kids's school and homework. Don't just complain and at least try not let your kid down, geez @_@
