Do not waste your clothes or your time. TL;DR: On a recent occasion, she ruined my $600 coat, and on another, assumed I was pregnant and told me my belly is getting really big. Spoiler alert: 1. That was my favorite coat, and 2. I am not pregnant. Her cleaning was mediocre at best beforehand, and I only went to her because she's two blocks from my house. The coat: I asked to have some seams closed that opened at the elbows and pockets. Instead of maintaining the current seam, she added 4-5 rows of stitches onto the outside of the coat in multiple locations, which added this poorly executed design that looked like you asked a child to sew a patch onto something. She tried to justify it, and eventually gave me my money back after I pushed her for a resolution, but now I have to pay to take it elsewhere to remove the stitching and then actually fix the ruined coat. This was completely unacceptable, and if they felt they couldn't maintain the seam, then they shouldn't have agreed to fix it. Assuming I'm pregnant: I went to drop off several items of clothing for cleaning, and one of the first things she says to me is "oh your belly is getting so big!" I couldn't believe what I was hearing, so I replied saying "what?" She doubled down and said "your belly is growing so much, you're pregnant right?" When I said "no, I am not pregnant," she says "oh you're not? Oops, sorry, sorry, sorry," as if she were pretending it didn't happen. It's 2023, don't comment on womens' bodies, especially if you're expecting business from them and you don't actually know them! I've never had someone say that to me before, and I left fighting back tears. I wasn't planning to go back to her, but thought I'd give her another chance, and then she ruined my coat. Let's just say I won't be going back ever again. Service: Alterations
