Richmond New May Wah Supermarket

Great supermarket! They have pretty much everything you need to make Chinese food. I especially like that they offer chicken bones in addition to pork/beef bones. They also have a pretty good selection of tea/noodles

Unethical store, and very poor customer service. I found out that they intentionally remove expiration dates on expired products and resell them. For example, a coconut milk box has no expiration date but once I looked closely, it showed faded date of 01/03/24. (as of 06/04/24). Fish snack was expired since 11/03/2023. Half of items that I bought yesterday didnt have expiration dates and some of them are about to be expired or already be expired. This is VERY sketchy and unethical considering this is a big store - lots of customers as well as employees. I went in and asked to talk to the manager about this issue, mainly for the concern about reselling expired food. A cashier lady was not happy to talk to me. She said the manager was not here since it was Saturday. However, I asked for the refund, she did it with some not-so-happy manners. I would like to encourage everyone to check your items carefully before buying from this store.

Visited this place every week, very large variety of items. Got everything I needed.

You can always count on this place to find any number of Asian products, particularly Chinese, but all kinds of Asian products. They also have a small houseware section in the back. It is actually two spaces that are connected by a ramp. The one to the right is where the fresh vegetables, meats and seafoods are. And all the packaged foods are on the one on the left. Note that some of the produce is also outside on the shelves for display as you walk around. So you might have to go outside and come back in to pay for it.. definitely cramped like a lot of Asian markets, but you can find things here. You can't find anywhere else.
