Claudio recently restored a 19th Century Boulle table that befell extensive water damage. We could not be happier with the restoration result! The attention to detail and the quality of restoration could only have been accomplished by someone highly skilled, patient and who takes great pride in their craftmanship. It is rare to find this quality of workmanship.

I was Moving and desperately needed to move my armoire, unfortunately, the key was broken. I Called 2 neighborhood antique locksmith, both came back at least 2-3x with no results. I ran out of options. I called C. Mariani Antiques....Debated on the hourly rate, I finally had them over and Luis was a genius, he opened my armoire without a key and with no damage. You get what you pay - it's so true!If you want it done the right way you should call C. Mariani Antiques!

A family heirloom, a statue of an elephant, was knocked over, and a leg snapped off. How to repair an old metal elephant? I searched Yelp and settled on C. Mariani Antiques. Claudio Mariani personally examined the elephant, and we discussed how it might be repaired. He basically welded the break, which requires tremendous skill because the whole elephant would melt at high temperature. He had to drip drops of melted metal into the break. With skilled painting, the elephant was restored like new. In the process of visiting, I was stunned by the high quality of items of the Antique gallery. It was like visiting Hearst Castle on steroids, or a private estate in Florence. I learned that Claudio was trained in Florencedecades ago. He came to San Francisco in the late 70's and built a very successful antique gallery, restoration and custom creation business. His restoration and reproduction shop is filled with extraordinary craftsmen, specializing in wood carving, leather restoration, painting, filigree and gilding, and much more. Many of the craftsmen have worked with Claudio for more than 20 years. I felt like I was visiting an old Italian craftsmen guild. Claudio says that he is probably the last guy in the US who works with leather, using 200-300 year old tools that enable him to restore or recreate antiques that span several centuries. You get what you pay for! This shop works on museum quality pieces and is doing fantastic work creating unique pieces for decorators and people who collect high-end museum quality pieces. I felt honored that Claudio made room in his schedule for my little project. Check out the pictures!
