We remodeled and were looking for a unique mantle after getting rid of our standard plaster one. We looked and looked for a 12 ft wood mantle and saw wed be paying over $3000 for what we wanted. J&W is literally across the street from our office so we stopped by and spoke with one of the guys. We explained what we wanted and he spent a good 30 min helping us pick out the perfect piece. He gave us details on how to sand and stain. Precondition the wood and even beat it up a little. The mantle is beyond perfection!! Its such a beautiful piece in our home and I just love looking at it. The wood cost is less than $150 and between installation and staining, it cost us less than $300 to get a mantle that isnt prefabbed and is the size we wanted.
