AVOID!!!! Please do yourself a favor. Take the $6k you’d spend on these balloons and invest in a personal trainer and a meal prep company. These balloons do absolutely nothing. I lost weight on the balloons because I started going to the gym 2x a day and ate less calories. These balloons made me feel like i was starving, then when i did eat, my body forced me to throw up what i ate because i felt so full. I woke up nauseas every single day. There is no way the positive reviews are legitimate. My experience with Obalon from day 1 was awful. I started by talking to the dietician - in the middle of our conversation the doctor popped her head into our room and said ‘i just got a call from that psycho patient - it’s your turn’..... Okay then. After the first balloon, I felt awful. I was so hungry all the time, and I would eat a full meal and still be starving. The doctor just kept telling me to eat carrots.... then she put me in two different types of medicine to sustain my hunger. One med made me feel like a zombie and the other made me an insomniac. After going for the second balloon, the doctor told me i was actually under the weight I should have been to have been approved for the balloons and they may not work. She told me this AFTER I GOT MY SECOND BALLOON. Three months passed before I lost a pound and I only lost weight because I started intermittent fasting, ate 1000 calories a day and did two 1 hr workouts a day, 6 days a week. The balloons did nothing for me besides give me stomach ulcers and extreme discomfort. The dietician called my emergency contact (my mom) thinking it was me and disclosed my personal information. in addition, you’re supposed to receive 12 months of dietician guidance - I met with the dietician 2x and one was for the consultation. When i needed to set up my balloon removal, they took over TWO WEEKS TO ANSWER ME. I was in extreme pain and needed them remove but I got radio silence from them until i called a third party company to get in contact with them. i would not wish my experience on my worst enemy. this is absolutely the worst investment for weight loss and the WORST customer service I have ever experienced with AWFUL doctors that don’t care about anything besides giving you pills. They do not care about you after they have your money.

Are the other reviews on here even real? I worked with the Obalon Center In January, I can say now what a huge mistake it was. If I had any advice on the product and center - it would be turn around and don't do it. From the first consultation with the "doctor" (I use quotations for the level of professionalism and care provided by this person) and a tech - walking in the room and not being acknowledged at all or told what the appointment was for, all the while tech and "doctor" bantering back and forth ignoring that I was in the room discussing other patients. I am not in the medical field but I believe this would be in the hippa violation category. I can summarize my experience from there, I should have walked out after that as an indicator and never looked back. I went through with the procedure and got one of the balloons - I have never experienced more pain in my life. I followed the directions to a T and called every day to talk to the "doctor" and was told everything from eat a couple carrots to pile on more prescriptions to help. NOTHING helped, I could not sit, stand, lay down let along workout without being in extreme pain and the scariest was not being able to breathe. The topper is if you aren't eating every 2 hours the pain goes from an 8 to a 12. Isn't it to help you NOT eat as much? After 4 days with this in I made the necessary decision I needed to have it removed IMMEDIATELY. I couldn't breathe and all they were doing is asking me to keep taking meds and eat carrots. Only after I requested the removal did anyone call with real concern - the "doctor" I spoke to daily wrote everything off as normal. They did attempt to talk me in to getting a second balloon to help?! Which if one was causing so many issues how would two feel? I had the removal the week after I had the balloon in and was told by the endoscopy facility I now had a hiatal hernia, which explains the incredible pain and difficulty breathing. I attempted a refund based on this experience but have been met with the front desk worker sending a very low partial offer. The kicker is the misinformation the "doctor" has given to myself and my credit card company as a version of the real story. DON"T DO IT. If this honest review saves even one person the pain I went through, it's worth broadcasting.
