From quote to finish, we are so pleased with our experience with Roofing Specialists. The team worked quickly, efficiently and thoroughly despite us having other significant work done at our house at the same time and it being very chaotic. There was A LOT of rotten wood (we had multiple leaks) to be replaced and they did a wonderful job of making it look seamless, and painting to match. They send photos daily of the progress and the work as its being done so we knew what was happening without having to climb on the roof to check it out. Each day they would clean up carefully, including walking around with a magnet to catch stray nails. We've had multiple compliments on our roof already in the 2 weeks its been finished.

Great customer service. Very thourough in investigating my leaking roof concern when I called in. It was determined I needed a deck specialist and they recommended two companies. I will be back if my pitched roof needs repair. Good, honest people.

We recently had our 39 year old tile roof redone by Roofing Specialists of San Diego. It was called a Whole House Lift and Lay, meaning the tiles were re-used where possible, and replaced where necessary, and the underlayment was replaced all over. That is, except for under the 18 solar panels I installed about 9 years ago and had a roof "tune up" done in that area at that time. We had developed a pretty serious leak (not near the solar panels) after recent storms and we appreciated Mark coming out rather quickly to assess the job and give us a quote. We also appreciated his willingness to leave the part of the roof under the solar panels out of the quote, but to access the situation in that area when the job was being done. We had gotten a few other quotes beforehand so we knew Mark's price was fair. His quote was very detailed, showing all the materials they would need and a detailed breakdown of the costs. We had an out of town trip coming up so we were motivated to have the job completed beforehand and Mark promised they would do so, so we decided to go with Roofing Specialists. They showed up when they said they would, with an army of workers, and they completed the job ahead of the next forecasted storm. They sent a lot of pictures during the job to give us a view of what was going on and we were very pleased with the outcome. The roof looks great and they cleaned up as promised. The only reason I did not give a fifth star is that, while communication before the job was great, I felt that after it began it was a little lacking. One of the conditions of the quote (which is very reasonable) is that it did not include any wood that would need replacement, and the quote came with a price list for the various sizes of wood that might be needed. So we felt a little anxiety about what the final cost was going to be, not knowing how much wood would need to be replaced. During the job we could see some areas where wood was being removed and replaced, and some of the pictures that were sent showed such areas. But when the job was completed, nobody gave me any sense of how much wood was replaced. I was also wanting to hear their assessment of the area under the solar panels to see if they agreed with my assertion that area did not need to be redone at this time. Lastly I saw that the quote said the payment was due upon completion, so I called Mark to find out what the final price turned out to be. He let me know an invoice was being prepared, which would include the additional costs for the wood, and we could make our payment after receiving it. I reminded him we were going out of town in a few days, so he promised to make sure we were sent the invoice promptly. The day before leaving I called again, and Mark assured me the invoice would be delivered that afternoon. It wasn't and we went away on our trip. While we were away, I received the invoice via email, requesting payment. I was relieved to see the additional charges for the wood that was replaced were not very high, but I was not in a position to send payment until I returned from the trip. I received two more requests for payment while away (it was a 12 day trip) which I found a bit annoying, especially after making the effort to complete the transaction before leaving home. I still recommend Roofing Specialists highly for their comprehensive quotes, their fair pricing, and the great job they did on the roof. I just think they could improve some on communications about final costs and invoicing.
