My GF and I were in the area. We're not usually in Hillcrest. She'd had a rough day so when I checked out the menu on line and saw Crest Cafe serves breakfast any time along with a pretty extensive menu, I knew this was the place to try. After we were seated, just looking at the menu made her happy. She chose a French toast option with raspberries and ricotta. Breakfast for dinner is a special treat for her. It did not disappoint. I got one bite of that and it was delicious. I went for the catfish poboy. I enjoyed it. There are so many attractive choices on the menu that we'll have to come back next time we're in Hillcrest to try more delicious things. Parking: We tried to park at a meter on the street but it was broken so we parked in a paid lot a block away. This has nothing to do with the restaurant, but hunting for parking and paying to park is one of the reasons I don't usually go to Hillcrest or the Gas Lamp.
