I planned a surprise pasta making class for my wifes birthday at this place. We had about 14 people for the class and everything went great! From communicating with one of the owners (Francesco) to the moment we sat down to eat our own made pasta, everything was delightful! I first communicated with Francesco through Instagram about my plan and he was up for it. He even suggested where our guests would hide while me and my wife come in to surprise her. The class was fun and interactive, we learned alot about how to make pasta from scratch. We might have been a little bit chaotic because all of our friends was laughing and and not listening (I apologize to Francesco for that) but we really had a great time learning and getting our hands dirty. They also provide you with appetizers to eat while your dough sets, and dessert afterwards. Our server, I forgot his name, was very courteous and polite. He served all of us like family.Everyone took care of us great! We felt at home In Mattarello! Thank you Francesco and everyone working that night!! You guys made my wife very happy with her surprise class :)

Be aware of a $100 "group gratuity charge" that is not mentioned anywhere on the website, in the restaurant or verbally by employees until the end of your dining experience when you receive a bill. I cannot tell you how many people constitute a group large enough to earn a group gratuity charge since there is not mention of this "policy" but we had a total of six people in our group. The person who provided the bill was rather aggressive about this and I am currently filing a claim with the better business bureau. Also, you will only learn to make pasta. After you roll and cut pasta, the cook will prepare the rest of the dish in the back of the restaurant.

Took the bread making class and I'm kind of confused what happened. We weren't given any recipe to take home and were walked through how to make bread that seemed isn't possible to make in a home kitchen anyway. And the "hands on" part was basically dropping premade dough into a pot. The class description also said we'd "make" two loaves of bread but we only did one and then the 2 hour class ended in around 1 hour when the loaf was done cooking. Definitely feel like the website oversold the experience. Instructor was thorough and kind at least.

This has been my favorite part of San Diego! The Asparagus Sausage fettuccine was divine and all the flavors blended really well. The Mascarpone & Crudo was equally delicious! The crispy prosciutto bits went amazing on top of the ravioli! We signed up for a cooking class so we got to eat the pasta we made. It was such an amazing experience!
