image it was fine, would have probably been better at another property close by - elevator hassles w # if rooms and an elevator out of service and seemed it was always a wait to get our family on/off.
hot tub not heated, waste.
A/C has 1 speed and kept defaulting back to 68 and was freezing for wife and kids, I slept great.
TV didn't work, called 2xs to front desk
Noteworthy details: hot tub not working while we were there. main reason we picked this property. front desk said heated to 100+, it was probably in 60s... something broken or gone wrong.

image Room smelled musty. Phone didnt work in room so I was unable to reach front desk (after they didnt respond to my chat on the mobile app), the wifi did not work, the air conditioning did not work - maintenance came and changed the air filter and after that the room actually cooled down. I sat in the restaurant and did not receive any service, once I finally asked for some help and ordered, the order was made incorrectly. I was never offered water or coffee, and I had to ask for my check when I was finished. Overall, was not happy with my stay and will not stay there again.

image Weird knocking sounds and the walls are paper thin. Bathroom was disgusting, with the bathtub peeling and stained. The additional charges to your card without explanation and talking to you, supposedly as part of their contingency for damage. It was refunded but still a significant amount was charged. Not a high-quality hotel and on top of that they charge for parking...

image Glorified motel. No complementary water, you have to buy Cosco water downstairs. Paint in tub was chipping, building is a bit rundown.

image We had a nice 5 day stay at this location. We have never stayed in Mission Valley before, so we thought we'd give it a try. It's close to just about everything one could ask for. Fashion Vallet Mall, one of our favourite malls, is to the left and Mission Valley mall to the right. And a bunch of stores and restaurants in between. I suggest using Uber/Lyft, much more reasonable than renting a car and paying the daily parking fee!
The restaurant in the hotel is actually really good. We had te half chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans and the tuna tartar tostadas. For dessert, we had the flour less chocolate cake and the banana bread pudding. Both were exceptional! We ordered the desserts every night we were back at the hotel before closing. Our reservation came with the daily buffet breakfast, which wasn't too bad...I wish these hotels would extend breakfast to 11am! I am on VACATION!! I WANT TO SLEEP IN!! ok...so no sleeping in and you cannot take your breakfast back to your room! I can understand the reason why, but...I had a voucher for 2 and I was only taking my one breakfast, it was past 10am (I actually overslept) so no way of coming back down for more...thank goodness at least 1 server had some common sense and let me take my food upstairs so I could get ready at my leasure...back tracking a bit...when I tried to enter the restaurant area, around 9:40am, I was stopped and a line started forming behind me...come on Hilton...this is a cheap meal that you are charging at least $25/person...and when we were finally allowed in, all the vessels were full to capasity...if the food isn't eaten it's in the trash...what a waste and very annoying to your guests...why are you keeping pple from getting bfast?! Everyone u held up, still got food, and took your pple into overtime! Sooo...what was/is the point??? My suggestions are...keep breakfast open till 11am...let pple get food without a guard holding your guests back...let your guests go to their rooms to eat for goodness sake! Then you won't have a seating problem at the restaurant!
The room. Well, at 1st glance one may think it's nice. Upon further inspection tho...a poorly patched ceiling was very visible, the AC is NOT AC...it's swamp coolers??!! This is Mission Valley...in San Diego...it's humid enough here!! Who uses swamp coolers these days??! The bathroom has it's issues...ours was a walk in shower with the door opening in the back, so you got a nice chilly shower until warm water came out, you can't avoid all of it. There's no fan, so rust and moisture drops are evident...and if you make a stinky...there's no way to contain it or get rid of it! The whole room smells awful...ya know what I mean??!!
Overall, the staff was nice...a few had attitudes when I asked for anything slightly outta norm. My other issue is with late check out. I set up 2pm clout when I made the reservation online. The morning of checkout, I had pple knocking on my door starting at 8am!! They wouldn't wait for me to get to the door either! I had to get up each time only to find no one there!! Why??!! The 4th guy got my full frustration. He said it was on his clipboard but apologized and said he would check with the front desk. I assume they figured it out because no one came back. It was just frustrating, I specifically ordered late checkout so I could rest before my long day of travels. I am disabled so traveling is difficult, I have to rest and prepare.
Ooohhh...I almost forgot...the fire drill...was obnoxious...see video...they seem to need more practice or better technology??
Overall, I will still recommend this hotel. Just keep these things in mind when thinking you're staying at a "4" star hotel.
Nearby activities: Close to; Malls, food, & downtown.
Uber/Lyft are quick to respond and very reasonable.
