Went to the Rejuvenation store at the UTC mall looking to buy an office chair. Asked about buying the floor model for a chair that was retailing full price for $750. The chair had light wear from customer use, but worse had a big spot of disgusting sticky goop on the leather (clearly somebody had spilled something on it). A sign in the store was advertising mark downs for floor models (although later I found out it did not apply to this chair), so I asked how much the chair was given it's state. The sales woman told me it was full price even when I pointed out the goop! Definitely not going back. Especially for a chair that was overpriced to begin with. Disappointed. Also, definitely customer profiling, nobody even said hello to me when I entered the store as a casually dressed, young, person of color, and the person that assisted me practically sighed when I asked for assistance.

Although the furniture in this store is absolutely gorgeous, my experience in Rejuvenation left me inarticulate, and mildly condescended. The moment that I stepped foot into the storefront, I was greeted with looks of confusion. When I talked to the representative, I asked about hard wood desks. I was met with minimal response being that there were not many options in store. This on it's own, would have been fine, but when the representative and I parted ways, I continued to browse the store, being watched closely the whole time. The treatment that I received by the representatives felt incredibly cold and disoriented. The representative that I originally talked to came back up to me, and said that I'd, "probably have better luck at Pottery Barn." which felt weird to me, because the stores are not even remotely similar in style. I felt as if my physical appearance caused what I'd almost consider a sort of profiling, especially since two older women came in as I was leaving the store, and they were immediately met with a much more polite, warm, and welcoming experience right off of the bat, being that they were immediately greeted with a "Hello! Welcome into our store, do you have anything that you'd like to see?" whereas I was met with silence and weird stares. Overall, the furniture quality is incredible and the store is skillfully staged, but the employees felt incredibly distant and stand-offish.
