Extra Care Auto Repair – San Bruno

Mike is the best mechanic in the Bay Area. He's so honest with what is truly needed on your car, what isn't needed and the prices are fair with his estimates. He communicates everything being done and costs at each stage. We've recommended Mike to every friend because he's just that good. We had a 200k tune-up last week and the price was way lower than the dealership quoted. Also, give the dogs a nice pat on the head, friendly and don't mind Fresno and his excitement. He's still a puppy. If I could give 10 stars I would. My husband and I truly recommend Mike and his staff of excellent mechanics.

I got in touch regarding a drive belt change and received an unsolicited lecture on how the Honda dealerships/shops know nothing about cars (!!), plus a strong subliminal message that I am stupid. "How do you know you need to change your drive belt?" Oh, I don't know, I had a dream last night and woke up thinking it would be a great idea. Won't be coming here to get further belittled. A simple "Sure, come up on Monday and we will do it for you" would do. EDIT: The owner replied 3 weeks later, as you see below. Message for the owner: Friends don't treat their friends with contempt. Yes, you did say Honda doesn't know anything about cars (I posted my review within an hour after the phone call, so it was fresh in my memory; you waited 3 weeks to reply.) It's admirable that, instead of just simply apologizing (because maybe you were having a bad day back then), you still manage to blame ME for not "seeing things". This was an easy fix - you had my phone number, you could have offered a complimentary check or a discount if I take my opinion down. Instead, you proved you are lacking in basic respect and humility. I cannot say a word about your experience with cars, because I never used your service, but your customer service sucks, my friend.
