I found MakersXD online and was really excited because it was one of the few programs in Sacramento that offered YT training/video editing for kids. My son had the pleasure of working with Brannon. His tutoring seems to ok, but his business and time management skills are off. When we originally started, my son attended the weekday course until the school year ended. Brannon offered summer tutoring and gave us a couple of options for days. I was a little hesitant about continuing because when we attended the after-school sessions, he had a habit of providing schedule changes at very last minute. However, I pushed forward, choosing the Sunday he offered, thinking it was no big deal and because my kid really wanted the training. Things did not get better. I really wish Google would allow me to upload photos of messages. Brannon started to cancel or delay tutoring moments before we were scheduled to meet. Literally moments. Then he wouldn't meet at all. I tried to get a different tutor, but was told he was the only one. So, I tried to call him and explain my concerns, which included me paying the monthly fee quoted, and him not completing all sessions. He told me he doesn't do customer service and that I was not living in the real world by expecting him to provide the service we paid for. He also stated that we were basically inconveniencing him because he would rather be with his family on Sunday. I was really confused because he offered that day as a tutoring day and really disappointed at how argumentative he had become. I am even more upset that we paid for a month of service, and he refused to provide the last session. He proceeded to tell me that he didn't charge his regular rate because he hates how expensive it is (something about he is waiting on subsidy so he won't have to charge so much) and that he was basically doing us a favor. I didn't even know we were being charged a discount because nothing in the emails stated such. When I told him I was not looking for favors, I just wanted a YT/video editing tutor for my son, he said we can join his club for $300/week (we were originally paying $95/mnth for just a tutoring service). Luckily, my son got accepted to a school that offers what we are looking for. Needless to say, we won't be going back. ***Response to Owner: Dr. Calvert, I greatly appreciate your response. I had sent an email requesting to speak to someone previously, but was told there was no one else for me to speak to. I made no request for a private tutor and I still have my email from where I told I was working with MakersXD. I really wish I was able to speak with you because I had requested other tutoring options to avoid having to quit the service. Unfortunately, we have decided to move on from MakersXD at this time. If anything changes, I will be sure to reach out to you. Thank you kindly.

I am a student and this school is so fun but you learn a lot of stuff you need to know if you want to make a lot of money in the the world doing lots of things. Revolving programing and soldering and other things like that. (But l like that I can use a lazer cutter and a 3D printer the most .)

I met Mr. Kohler my freshmen year of high school. I'm in college now and very close to graduating. Throughout my college years he never stopped helping me when I needed extra help understanding a concept or getting through a tough class. He lives to teach and one of his main priorities is making sure his students learn skills they can apply to real world situations. Mr. Kohler taught me to think critically and helped me look at the world through different eyes. He challenges his students and encourages them to learn through discovery. I wasn't the best student but Kohler was patient and never gave up on me. He is one of the most incredible people I have ever been fortunate to meet. I owe him a lot am excited to see that he has started his own school. I would say he was my mentor. The skills and many things he has taught me over the years have helped me get to the wonderful place I am today. As an adult I call him a friend and was fortunate enough to have him come to my wedding. I could go on for much longer but hopefully my experiences with Kohler are enough to convince you to give his school a shot. I know with his new school he will continue to change his students lives for the better. I've had a lot of great teachers along the way but none come close to him. He lives to teach.

Mr. Kohler has been a teacher and mentor of mine for many years. Now that I've completed college, I can truly say that out of all the teachers and professors I've had Mr. Kohler has taught me the most valuable skills out of any of them. He teaches you how to approach problems on your own, and gives you the confidence to tackle those difficult problems. He makes every effort to help students realize what they want to do in life and then helps students to develop a passion for it. It's because of this I entered college having years of knowledge in my field of study while 90% of my peers were just beginning.
