My daughter was at Creating Characters for almost two years before we had to change schools. If it wasn't for real life getting in the way we absolutely would have kept our daughter here until she aged out.
This center is by far and away a blessing on Sacramento. Jozalynne, the director, is a fantastic person for this role. She is kind, smart, communicative, and inclusive. When we were originally touring daycare centers for our daughter Mrs. Jozalynne was the first to invite our child into a lesson.
Beyond that, this center was, and likely still is, the best priced daycare in the area. We were paying less for full time here than most part-time rates in our neighborhood. That is not to say the quality of care is any less. In fact, I believe Mrs. Jozalynne prices the way she does because, as a parent herself, she understands the difficulty of working and affording childcare. Because of this, I know every single penny I put into this center is turning into diamonds.
The curriculum is also fantastic. When our daughter first enrolled she had some socializing and behavioral issues, as well as trouble speaking her mind. There was noticeable difference after only a month, and over the course of her enrollment she exploded with knowledge. These teachers are setting every student up for success who enrolls here. Specifically, however, their curriculum is based around preparing students for preschool and I know my daughter is set.
The center also uses an application to communicate directly between the parent and facilitator. It allowed the staff to give us updates on our daughter, but also gave us the opportunity to communicate directly with the staff member. This came in handy several times, especially during the heat wave of this previous Summer.
Finally, it is important to encourage our community. Creating Characters is a black woman owned business that sprung from someone's home business. Everyone working at this facility has your child's best intentions at heart and, at the end of the day, will show just as much kindness to you as your child.
Sacramento would not be the home it is without people like Mrs. Jozalynne and her terrific staff bringing love and patience to every action. It is not often you find a place that makes you feel secure with your children. And even less often you find a place of security that offers a welcome smile. I cannot commend this preschool academy enough and am grateful for everything they have blessed my family and me with.

My kids have been going there almost a year. I enrolled them during covid and I was super nervous about childcare during Covid. However, I was relieved when I learned about all the steps the Director and Staff put in place to make sure all the kiddos, staff and families are safe and healthy.
I can rave on and on about the Director, staff and facility. The environment is safe, warm and provides a space for little brains to learn and grow. My kids both have special needs and everyone has provided so much care, structure and educational support. It feels more like a family and I recommend this place to everyone I know.
