So the neighborhood spot is not ideal, and yes it looks maybe more rough around the edges. However the school has a lot of spirit and you will see a very diverse set of classmates attending. My oldest one who graduated in honors said she would have preferred a more inclusive work environment, to keep students on track as half would end up confused by fault of the teachers. So far so good I would recommend for a regular high school experience, with at least regular people.

Nothing but positive experiences related to MLHS.  Like anywhere, there is a level of effort necessary for a student to get the full value out of their education there.  But certainly the opportunities for student success are many at that campus.  Teachers are good and certainly caring. Very good high school.

Positives:-Provides many, many clubs and students will not have a hard time finding a community of people to join-Multitude of programs: passport, International Studies (IS), International Baccalaureate (IB), etc.-Has many academic teams and sports teams-New facilities including the brand new track and football field-Many student-led and teacher-led events throughout the year that raise the morale of the student bodyNegatives:-In a ghetto neighborhood, but this has never hindered the learning environment-Although the academic advisors try their best, their knowledge base is not extensive enough to accomodate for the entire student population because it is so diverse

Why does this school still allow violent disrespectful students to attend here? Why are teachers (someone with doctor's degree) allowed to force their political views on our students? Why can't we have more law enforcements at our school just to keep us safe? Why are we having a school protests during the class time IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL? We attend this school to learn, not to protest our own rights that we have been given by our founding fathers. P.S, Too much tolerance in this shool, don't send your kid here if you don't want them to end up too emotional.
