image We currently have a parish priest who has been impossible to reach for the sacraments and then when a person declined in their health there was no response from the parish at all not one response this is very sad because in the past there has been much care and much love and many sacraments to be had however right now it seems to be a problem for some people not really sure what he's being paid for since there are no sacraments going on apparently other than communion for a few on Sunday and a couple of people on Wednesday Mass there's just nothing and this might be a trendy church and this may be an impular opinion but truly have not been able to reach the guy and he is not returned my calls I heard that he doesn't check his email or his voicemail and that has been my experience so sorry for the way things have gone at St F.

image When our children were nearing tk / k school age, we researched and visited several area schools as we looked for a great fit. St. Francis of Assisi was the school that checked all our boxes. First and foremost, a healthy and loving community of teachers and staff that had the students' well being - both short term and long term successes - as their primary objective. We've now been here for 4 years - several years we had a teacher that was new to the school. I personally find that to be a great test of the culture and vision that the school maintains. In each instance, the school demonstrated their commitment to the kids through the hiring of amazing teachers - even through the 2020 pandemic, these teachers have been great in all ways. It all starts at the top, with the great principal and vice principal. Mr. Hrga and Mr. McCrimmons are proven leaders through even troubling times. I highly recommend St. Francis Elementary.

image We could not be happier with our choice to send our daughters to St. Francis Elementary. The community is warm and welcoming, and the teachers and staff are committed to fostering academic excellence and spiritual growth for every student. For our family, a robust performing arts program was essential, and we love how the arts are woven into the academic and co-curricular school day with Ms. Stites' music classes and in-class theatre performances. Principal Hrga knows each child by name, as do all the faculty and staff members, and they work together as a team to provide a holistic education that recognizes the individualism of each child. My children feel safe and loved at school, even in the midst of the pandemic, which for us as parents is invaluable. We are so thankful to have found this wonderful school community.

image If you are looking for a school that has solid and proven academic track record coupled with kindness and inclusion then St. Francis Elementary is the school for you and your family.  I have three school aged children (8,8, and 11) attending St. Francis.  They have attended this school since TK.  I am wholly impressed with St. Francis Elementary's amazing ability to really reach students and bring out the best.  I don't even worry with distance learning because St. Francis has proven to providing exceptional instruction in both formats.   The school has a waiver in place but allows parents to keep distance learning options.  The school community as a whole is very accommodating and nurturing.  And now they are in process of obtaining International Baccalaureate (IB) certification.  Some have noted that IB in some cases can be more challenging than AP classes.  By St. Francis Elementary  engaging in IB they are providing my children a solid foundation for continued success into high school and college learning without sacrificing the humanitarian side of education.

image My review is only based on observation...and concern as a parent. I parked outside the church waiting for an appointment and watched about 15-20 very young children (boys and girls) dressed in parochial clothes walking.  They were playing and having fun.  I looked for an adult...these kids were 5-7!  Finally I saw the adult in front with her face in her phone.  I watched these kids...some at least 3/4 block behind the adult playing and messing/hitting each other and the adult didn't have a clue.  One kid stayed behind when they turned the corner....They rounded the block three times while I watched.  I had an appointment across the street and pointed this out to a friend.  These kids could have been easily kidnapped since no adult was behind them.  What the heck?  I would assume the parents pay a huge fee for what?  Sorry...this scares me.  By the way...around 1 pm today.
