If you have a connection with the school's principal: everything's perfectly fine, happy, you've got it good. You have a better chance getting into the class of the teacher you want. And that's unfair. Also, for a school that promotes anti-bullying, there sure is a lot of it. Some of the teachers are good (a few in particular were very much so) but others seem to be slightly biased based upon the parents' connections with them. All in all, this school is not the best.

This is a great elementary school in a wonderful neighborhood. The teachers are great and invested in the students' progress. The parents are invested in the students and involved. there is never a shortage of parent volunteers for activities and field trips. The PTA is very involved and is made of parents from all of the grade levels.  They did a great job with hybrid classrooms during COVID pandemic. They ensured that students had Chromebooks to use and there was a huge learning curve for teachers and students during the virtual learning period, but teachers and principal were transparent with communication during such a trying time. There was a recent principal change because Ms. Farina retired. However, Mr. Stovall comes from a long dedicated tenure to education. I do wish there were more attention to the landscaping.

My son currently goes here and I've had to pick him up from class a few times for being sick. As I walk in to the front office absolutely no one acknowledges the fact that I'm picking him up. I mean, other schools ask for picture ID or ask who you're there to pick up. Not this school. I worry about this because anyone can pick up your kids from school in this case!! But that's not all. As I was there saying "Excuse me, I'm here for my son" to let them know I was there for my son, all I get are stares but nothing said to me. I'm Hispanic. As soon as a white male came into the office for his son, right away the front desk receptionist says "hi there how can I help you?" WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD!? Such racist staff!!!!!!!

Our family moved out here last year and was expecting a better school and year for my son. My son came out as gay last year. It was nothing but torture for my son. He was bullied and harassed everyday. The teacher that he had did nothing about it same with the principle. In fact it caused me to say something to these kids and politely say hey what your doing is going to get you in trouble some day meaning the police. Shortly after me and my son get in trouble. They automatically believed the bullies. These kids bullied my son until he had a suicide attempt and still nothing was done. They still believed the bullies. My son was called "faggot" and "disease" everyday and was never acknowledged by his name. If I could give this place a zero I would. I would not recommend this school to anyone. Not to mention his IEP, 504 and his safety plan were not enforced. So if you have it good with the district and the principle don't bother. My son developed more intense PTSD nightmares because of the bullying. His teacher slammed the door in my face when I tried to report it. His teacher was also discriminating against the lgbtq saying that, "transgender people are irrelevant" like cmon now. People wonder why the hatred is being reinforced. It's happening at this school. If your child is part of the lgbtq or has disabilities they will not be successful at this school. The only reason I gave them a star is because there front staff are nice and seemed to care about the children.
