If there was zero I would give it to them. I am retired MD and Author. This place is worse than a prison. You cannot get out. I stayed 4+ months and they were nightmare. The place is full of Medicare and Medi-Cal insurance fraud. The food is horrible. It is understaffed big time. It is medical imprisonment small center that is way overcrowded.

I wish there was a "zero" star option. When my mother entered Monterey, it was like walking into a prison. Not only would I not choose this location for a family member, but I would not recommend it to my greatest enemy. like an animal in a cage, they were treated.

Wish I could give a zero star rating. My Father-in-law just got out of there a few days ago. This place is horrible. We're 2,500 miles away in NC so there isn't anything we could do for him while he was there. We thankfully was able to get him out of there and have him transported by an outstanding medical transport co. across the country to a wonderful facility that is near us here in NC. called Terra Bella. I could hear staff yelling at him when my wife was on the phone with him when he was at Monterey. The 3 outstanding people that transported him to NC said that Monterey was a horrible place when they walked in. One of them said it was like a prison. I not only wouldn't ever pick this place for a family member, I wouldn't pick it for my worst enemy.

This business has an unethical billing practice. Billing for Medicare days, which are covered by other nursing home before the other nursing home, has a chance to bill for their covered days. I would give NEGATIVE stars if it's allowed. Will be discussing with management on filling a complaint with CMS

The staff are always chill, focused on the assignments provided. Concerned about the patients. Although, the staff does need to focus on their parking lot and how to improve the quality of it. (Shaded wise)
