After coming in and getting several x-rays on my thumb that by the way, I had to tell everyone in there what I was there for write things down and they were all very nice but then Dr. Caputo came in and asked me what I was doing there? just run when the doctor tells you that because after that if he doesnt know what youre doing there he doesnt know what hes doing either!!! I came there to find a doctor to take care of my degenerative joint disease in my hands and I had surgery on my wrist to replace that joint. but my thumb is literally hanging by the bone and its numb. He didnt act concerned at all, and he actually didnt really act like he cared about it and he didnt want to check the rest of my hands, which I havent had checked in a couple of years. I mentioned him since I had Kaiser and I switched insurance and now I have Medicare and Scan. I dont know if that makes a difference, but the doctor I had at Kaiser took x-rays and both my hands and always told me what needed to be done, but he didnt to take the time to even discuss the options for my thumb except for he wanted to test me for nerve damage. ?because he didnt think it was important enough even though Im right now then Im gonna lose my thumb kind of rolled his eyes and said youre not gonna lose your thumb? Even though its numb? I dont think he knows what hes doing he was very condescending towards me!!!

I highly recommend Dr. Caputo and Arrowhead Orthopaedics. I saw Dr. Caputo for a ganglion cyst in my hand that I had had for about 6 years. It had started to cause me pain and I needed to know what could be done about it. Dr. Caputo was very nice and informational. He gave me my options and advised me of the risks for both treatment options. I ultimately chose to have surgery to remove the cyst completely. I am so happy that I did. Dr. Caputo is a very good surgeon. He knows what he is doing and gets you in and out of outpatient surgery quickly. My experience with his office staff has also been a pleasant one. All the nurses and front desk staff are nice. A couple things I'd like to point out: 1. The wait time to see Dr. Caputo can be quite long. My first appt (at 8am) I waited 1 1/2 hours and my second appt (3pm) I waited for 45 minutes. 2. The office asks that you do a health questionnaire prior to your appt. They texted me a link to download an app but I know they have a tablet where you can do this in office. It did take me about 20-30 minutes to fill out the questionnaire. Other than those little things I would absolutely recommend Arrowhead Orthopaedics to my family and friends!

On our first appointment, we waited 2 hours in their office before being seen by the doctor. On our second visit, it was an hour and 45 minutes. We are very far away from their office and spent 4.5 hours on the road due to traffic on our second appointment just to be told to go home. I needed Xiaflex injections for Dupuytrens contracture in both hands. Was approved by insurance stating, there is nothing for you to do. Nothing happened for 2 weeks, so I called their office. They told me basically, dont call us, well call you when the 4 vials get here. Three more weeks went by and three more calls with the same answer. Their office blamed the pharmacy. I called the pharmacy. They had contacted Dr. Caputos office 4 times with NO RESPONSE! A month and half had elapsed since my first visit and my fingers had contracted another 5 degrees - the contractions are accelerating. I told Dalila Isla that she needed to check into this. That afternoon, I checked back with the pharmacy and they told me that Dr. Caputos office had just ordered the Xiaflex that afternoon - yes, 6 weeks after my first visit! A week after my strong phone conversation, I got a call to come in, that the Xiaflex had arrived and Dr. Caputo would give me the injections. I verified that we needed 4 vials, not just one. She agreed after checking into it. When we got there, I was told that he could not give me the injections because they had only one vial of Xiaflex. I called the pharmacy a little while ago and they told me that only 2 veils were ordered by Dr. Caputos office and they only needed one. Again they tried blaming the pharmacy saying they should have called us to cancel the appointment made by Dr. Caputos office. Pharmacies dont make or cancel doctors appointments! This staff can only fall into three categories: 1. They are incompetent. 2. They are liars. 3. They are stupid in their communication skills. Essentially, nothing they said made a modicum of sense. It might also be a combination thereof, or all three. Dr.Caputo seemed like a very good doctor and a nice guy. However, having been in business for 38 years, I can say with confidence that Ive fired people more competent than those on his staff. This is an edit: Several days after requesting approval from the pharmacy to return the only vial of Xiaflex (two were needed for the injections), I got a call from Dr. Caputo's office that I had an appointment Monday to see him for Xiaflex injections. Didn't the doctor's staff get the message that this whole deal is off the table now and they should have returned the vial of Xiaflex back to the pharmacy??? Like I mentioned, 100% incompetence!
