Would give zero stars if I could! They have withdrawn my direct deposits without returning the money back to my boss's account without any explanation. Last week they deposited my paycheck for the week into the account of someone who doesn't even work at our business anymore, after telling us that he was taken out of payroll. When my boss confronted them on the phone, she was basically told these mistakes were made because small businesses aren't as important to them as larger corporations. How can I trust an accounting company with my money if this is their attitude towards small businesses?? We're hoping to switch to a different company soon.

I have been with Paychex for 8 years. In the first couple of years, it was good and I started trust this company not check my bank account anymore. And one day I found my oiginal $50 something monthly service fee has gone up to over $200 per month. I was never informed of these fee changes. They probably lured me in with a low promotional price as I noticed there is no monthly fee listed on the contract ( make sure you sign a contract with clear fixed monthly fee). You have to check every payment they pull from your account. One time I found there was double charges and emailed the rep. She quickly replied and admit that is an error charge and she would credit back. If you don't catch it in 3 days and inform them, they deem it that you agree with all those uninformed charges. Unfortunately I so blindly trusted them. If I would switch to other payroll company earlier, I would have saved thousands of dollars. Just watch your bank account especially for those old customers who have been with them for a long time. The last but not least, pay attention to the mediation place stipulated in the contract in case of disagreement. It is New York on mine while my company is in California. I was not able to reach my rep in person. It is always a voice mail. So the phone support is really not there.

Paychex 401k does't follow up, you get to be left alone in the dark - they give you personal attention on the signed up stages and than you have to deal with a call center with random represntitives who have difrent information some know what they are talking about and some don't no personal treatment whats or ever meaning you figure out your problems by yourself they don't answer emails for support unless you send a few and that is within a week or so! I would not rest until the whole world will know how dreadful it is to deal with them! (I wish Google will allow an X' option vs a star to write a review because they don't deserve 1 star even!)

Fake reviews! Make sure you check your business checkings account faithfully! They change reps constantly who never answers your calls and always seem to be "OUT OF THE OFFICE" money was deducted out of my business account with no explanation on what it was for! Too much excess to your business account with different reps coming and going! If you're a small business go with a small payroll company that isn't greedy with shady pratices!

Updating Review: three stars... and only reason even giving three is our last rep Michael. Looking back over three years of service, we had 5-6 specialists and Michael was outstanding. The others all very sub-par and needed lots of training. But main reason for reduction... OVERPRICED, lots of extra FEES and constant UPSELLING. With technology, they provide little value and payroll is really just a front to sell all kinds of other services. Also dont waste time with their unemployment services, they are based on east coast and literally worked via snail mail meaning they wasted three weeks of response time to the state each time. USELESS. Feel free to correct me... happy to show and tell more.
