Nini's Place Childcare

We had a really wonderful experience at Nini's Place. Sent our child here from about 8 months until we moved out of state at 20 months and were sad we had to leave. The providers were all really caring and we felt like we were sending our child to a very loving and safe environment. They have a really great outdoor area for lots of outside play, did lots of arts and crafts, and had music and dancing. If you're looking for a smaller, more personal daycare center, I'd recommend Nini's Place.

Nini and her staff love children and understand them. If there's a spot at Nini's Place for you, you will be very lucky and your child will be very happy. The mood at Nini's is relaxed and happy, and the children are encouraged to be good friends with each other. They do all sorts of different things, from group play to arts to music, and they eat healthy, delicious, home-made meals. They learn manners and patience and they have so much fun. My daughter beams when I drop her off, and occasionally, doesn't want to leave. There's nothing fussy about Nini's place - it's comfortable, safe, and inviting. But I want to say more than this - I want to say something that's more special about Nini and her staff. She has a gift for kids, and she attracts staff who do as well. My daughter is a bit of a tough cookie, a little stubborn, and Nini has always had a special understanding of her - as she does of every single child in the daycare. I would also say that as first time parents my husband and I have made some rookie mistakes. Nini took these in stride and had enormous - ENORMOUS - patience with us, even when we forgot things or did things wrong. So I would say - this is a terrific place for your child, and for you, a really special place indeed.

It's hard to know where to start with Nini's place. Anita (aka Nini, the owner) has met every single expectation we ever had for someone to take care of our son. Her energy, love for the kids and passion for childcare is endless.Nini and her team are completely focused on the children. They always keep them busy and are so nurturing. When my son was just a baby, he had a cold and had trouble breathing and sleeping. When naptime came, one of the caregivers carried him in her arms during a one hour nap! She told me that when she tried to put him in his crib, he had too much trouble breathing, so she preferred to carry him until the end of his nap. It feels good to know your child is in such great hands.The activities at the daycare are extremely varied: arts, circle time, music classes with a music teacher, gym... Her place is fantastic for kids with a large backyard full of activities and a classroom full of learning tools and books. I've learned so much looking at the team interacting with the kids, staying calm, playful, loving and teaching many skills on social interactions. Our son is only 16-months but he always shows excitement and joy when he arrives at the daycare.  Nini has the day structured, she sets creative and fun plays and also provides delicious and healthy organic meals. The kids also get outdoor-time pretty much anytime it's not raining or too cold.I never feel any anxiety during the day knowing our son is there. I've never had a moment of struggle trying to talk to Nini. She is incredibly easy to talk to, experienced with both kids and parents. She is also very good at communicating what she needs from parents, leaving no room for misinterpretation or confusion. She makes it headache-free. As a parent, I really did my diligence finding a great daycare for our son, and I can tell you that picking Nini's daycare was the best decision I made for him. I highly recommend this place.

Nini is AWESOME. My son was with her for a year before he started pre-K, and he loved loved loved the school. Both Nini and her staff, Bessie and Jacquelini, are very very gentle, loving and comforting, very important with kids of this age... They were very intuitive with the kids, laughing with them, or guiding them, or giving them more one-on-one attention if they needed it, or were having a hard day. Nini manages to have a consistent schedule (which is good for kids) without having the schedule over-run the individual needs of the little ones. My son was in two different daycares (in Southern California) before we moved up here and found Nini, so I had other experiences to compare this to, and she is superior in every way. Every time I picked my son up, he was happy, well-rested, and had a clean face (it's surprising how many day cares let kids run around all grubby and gross, NOT here). They do a TON of arts and crafts, most days when I picked him up I would have a neat thing to take home with us, either a holiday themed craft, or just a painted or crayoned picture, and they have a very sweet Christmas party (the Santa is played by an alumni of the daycare... AWWW....!). What else? Yoga? Check. Music class? Check. Fresh fruits and veggies? Check. Home cooking, Brazilian style? Check. I have her personal recipe for beans and rice, which I make at home for my son.. It's a super mellow atmosphere, with a lot of cuteness and love, just the way a daycare should be! I highly recommend her.. Oh yeah, the playground is awesome too...
