This was one of the worst experiences. I had some issues with my Volt's electrical system so I took it in for repairs. I started visiting in April, and of course, it was a series of cascading problems that required visit after expensive visit. Long story short, after many visits, thousands of dollars, and many broken promises on time, my check engine light is still on, and now the car is having temperature issues that it did not have prior to the last visit. To make matters worse, while it was being fixed, they damaged the car's radiator and had to keep it for additional repairs for another two days to fix an issue they caused. Do not go to Boardwalk Chevrolet. Full stop.

Called the service number to check up on the status of my car, one hour after I was told it was due. The lady answering the call ruined the entire experience for me. She transferred me to two numbers who were out at lunch the first two times I called. The third time she directly put my call on hold. I stayed on hold for 5 mins. Then again I called in some time and same thing happened two more times. Then I realized what was happening and used a different number to call and this call was promptly answered. So she had just been declining my call. Terrible customer service experience because of this.

I did not have a positive experience. I asked for a pretty simple service, but it took multiple visits and was much more expensive than I anticipated from talking to people who used other Chevy dealers for the same service. I would have given 2.5 (out of 5) stars if possible Context: My Chevy Volt had an error message, and I wanted to have two of the car's modules reprogrammed to fix it. First off, I asked for a cost estimate when I made my appointment, but the service advisor never returned my call. Next, I brought my car in for its appointment and showed the service advisor the TSB that stated which modules needed to be reprogrammed. He wrote them down and quoted me $475. I know of several other people who had the same work done at other Chevy dealers for $200 (Sacramento dealer) to $300. $475 was an OUTRAGEOUS price but I really wanted the work done, so I paid it. I picked up my car after I was told that the work was completed. It immediately showed the same error I had when I brought it in. I looked at the paperwork for the service: one module was correctly programmed but the other one I specified was not (some other one was reprogrammed instead). I had to make another appointment to bring the car in on another day. The correct module was then reprogrammed. There were some other minor issues, but the work I originally asked for was done. Why was it so hard to give me an estimate or to do the job correctly? I paid FAR more than what other dealers charged too.

I had a good experience here recently with my gen 1 Chevy Volt which had thrown some scary codes after nearly 10 years of loyal service. Pretty much no one works on Volts except the dealer, and in this case I had to take it to the nearest one. Engineer/tech Jose F. carefully stepped through the possible causes of the code combo and shared his detailed analysis in careful notes. It was truly impressive. He identified the issue which was fixable (sensor) and essentially ruled out the other possibility which would have cost more than car was worth to fix (high voltage battery). He also noted an unrelated small but critical maintenance item to fix for safety reasons. Since I have had all maintenance done on schedule I think a different dealer missed this. I feel very fortunate that Jose was assigned to my case. Service advisor Jason M. was also professional and helpful. Services: Electrical repair, Brake service & repair, Battery

1.0 star rating 4/24/2023 I have a 2020 Corvette brought in for transmission slipping/ moving when put in park. They charged me over $900.00 to change the transmission fluid/ filter AND KEPT my car for 2 days. The car only has 12 k miles on it. Since when does it cost $900.00+ to change transmission fluid & 1 external filter?? Since when does it take 2Days to change transmission fluid & 1 external filter?? I purchased the best warranty/ guarantee available at time/day of purchase. They told me if anything goes wrong its covered. When I asked specifically what their hourly repair rate was, as I didnt see ANY price service list anywhere,They told me the hourly rate they charge is based on what the nearby dealerships charge for repairs. I didnt see any listed hourly prices/ rates for repairs. The sign that all auto repair places have that show exactly what they charge for "x" services. Even after all this, the car STILL moves/ jerks when in placed park- no matter the driving surface the car is on. When I brought the car back a 2nd time for the Exact same problem, their solution was to " test" other corvettes they have on the lot & see if they do the same thing as mine does. A service writer called me & said they tested 3 other corvettes & they all do the same thing my does. Ok. So why did Boardwalk Chevrolet charge me $900.00+ for something " all tested corvettes do"?! Why did they keep my car for 2 days to just change transmission filter/ fluid? Talking to them did nothing. I bought the best coverage available to cover everything that possibly could go wrong with the car only to find out the warrany/ guarantee isnt worth the paper its printed on. About my complaint Boardwalk Chevrolet responded with quote: "this customer doesn't own the vehicle. Every job is charged on an average repair charge some take longer then others , stated the vehicle is "an ev vehicle" which cost slightly higher to repair, compare to most vehicles, we advised the owner of the vehicle its based on a $300 per hour charge, which she paid under that amount." "The owner compared the charges to a friend of his who is not a certified EV technician, which he has no knowledge or certified of what and how to repair an EV Vehicle. repair charges stands as is authorized and agreed by the owner." Now, please be aware, that the Chevrolet Corvette hasnt released the New 2024 electric version yet. My Corvette is gas powered. It is not an EV. No one in my family tried to fix it They never gave me an hourly charge for the so-called service rendered. Boardwalk Chevrolet didnt bother to read the complaint I filed against them. They clearly have NO respect for their customers, especially life long customers. A couple of weeks later they realized their gross mistake with their initial response to my original complaint & told me the service manager will respond to me. Its now just under a month since their last response. I haven,t heard ANYTHING FURTHER from them. Just so you know, I went to BBB and General Motors Corporation to try remedy this horrible situation. I simply wanted my money back. This business ignored BBB requests. General motors was dismissive and did nothing. I'm hugely disappointed in Boardwalk Chevrolet. I was ripped off. This is my 3rd Corvette I've bought from them. It will also be my last.
