I don't know what to do anymore my 7 year old son has been having health problems for a year with constant tonsil infection in October his pediatrician referred us to an ENT we got approved but had the worst experience the doctor did not care did not even heard or read the notes from pediatrician he just said ok will start allergy shots then walked out I have worked as a medical and surgical assistant for 15 years and was not even allowed to explain he is already taking allergy medication and nasal sprays and shots have not worked also we had to wait 4 months to be seen in Jan he started to become antibiotic resistant his pediatrician referred us to Childrens hospital in San Diego we finally get an appointment till August 27 meanwhile my son is getting worse he chokes at night he now lost 40% of his hearing and antibiotics are not working we went to Mexico to visit family and he ended in the hospital with antibiotics in IV not working his oxygen levels 80 high fever and I was told he can't wait till August I don't know what to do if I wait for this insurance to help my son can loose his hearing and and have other major problems this is medical neglect on a 7 year old I'm trying to get my son surgery now on my own we are going to have to get in debt to seek medical help cause this insurance wont

Horrible. They wouldn't let me select my doctor even though he is on their plan. When I called them, they said I couldn't see him for a month because I changed PCP during the month. That was because they wouldn't let me pick him when I signed up!!! I finally saw him and had a lab test done. IEHP rejected the claim! I was on the phone with 2 different IEHP reps for about 1 hour. They were both horrible. They kept denying there was a problem and told me it was either the lab test company's fault or that denying the claim is normal because I had just switched to IEHP. I finally called the lab test company. In less than 5 minutes, they told me they had my IEHP insurance info including member number but IEHP rejected the claim anyway. Why, oh why, are IEHP reps so bad? The first one even hung up on me. I finally called IEHP back a third time and spoke with a supervisor. She was much better. She said the claim rejection is a problem and that the other 2 reps should not have treated me like that. She finally apologized to me. Avoid IEHP at all costs. Horrible.

I cannot recommend working at IEHP, particularly in their Medicare member services department. My personal experience was deeply negative, marked by bullying and a violation of my autonomy when I was coerced into getting the COVID-19 vaccine under the threat of termination. Despite dedicating nearly five years to the company, I was left disillusioned and disheartened. Initially, I had a positive experience in their medical member services division, thanks to an amazing manager and supervisor who were consistently supportive. However, upon transitioning to Medicare member services, I encountered a new management team that seemed to harbor animosity towards me from the outset. Despite my efforts, I found myself subjected to a scrutiny of my phone calls, culminating in the resurrection of an older call where I had admittedly made a mistake. While I hoped for understanding, given it was my first violation of the call avoidance policy, my fate was left to a Human Resources employee who, regrettably, chose to terminate my employment without offering any explanation. This abrupt dismissal left me feeling devalued and disposable, especially considering I had previously received commendation from the CEO himself for the quality of my phone interactions. In summary, my time at IEHP ended on a sour note, overshadowing any aspirations I had for a lasting career with the company.

I wrote this original review a year or two ago and now I ended this with an edited version just to be fair and honest about the MUCH improved services of every contact I have had with IEHP. They are listening and have taken appropriate action that shows the ARE caring and kind people and not "just" an insurance company processing and denying claims. I have been so pleasantly surprised by the staff being so available and doing whatever it takes to HELP ME. Thank you so much for helping this senior get the care I need to be my healthiest! So, please read this review to the end to get the complete full-circle picture of my experiences with IEHP. It just may help you decide what is best for you and your loved ones. OLD REVIEW Member Services is member harassment. Takes them five minutes of annoying recordings before you can speak to a person. Then they want your birthdays, social security number, phone number, address and that takes another 10 minutes. They still wouldn't give me the authorization number to see a specialist my primary referred me to! Another time they made me take an ineffective inhaler that gave me thrush, then I needed another medication to fix that problem. Plus the inhaler didn't help me! And they don't want to cover a medication that helps me because I had my birthday and turned 65! I have used this medication for years and it was covered, now they deny me coverage! IEHP plays games with helping its members. They seem to be on a power trip and their survey does not reflect how many times they are not helping their members! They need to track ALL of the calls, not just the ones they complete with their members! I have called four times for the authorization number and they still won't give it to me! UPDATE: It just wouldn't be right if I didn't update my review post about the new and very improved IEHP. Best healthcare ever! They now are answering the phones much quicker and I get to speak with a very helpful staff member. Plus, they stay on the phone and will call other people on my behalf to clear up any issues right then and there! All in one phone call. Everyone has been exceptionally kind, caring, patient and very helpful. All of you are doing a fabulous job of representing and serving your IEHP members. I am super satisfied!!! Thank you so much.
