If you suffer from BPPV I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend Dr Bell. I speak from a long and tortured 35+ year journey with a multitude of BPPV episodes. After seeing numerous specialists ranging from neurologists, ENTs, vestibular therapists and GPs, the answer was always the same. You are one of the rare people who is affected in both ears and several canals so this makes it nearly impossible to treat effectively. In short, I felt like they all gave up on me. We've come to not expect people to go above and beyond these days, but Dr. Kim Bell does that and more. She is, hands-down, one of the most compassionate, empathetic, and caring professionals I've encountered in years. She was extraordinarily helpful when my mother suffered the sudden onset of vertigo recently, and quickly referred me to a plethora of like-minded (i.e, expert, compassionate, empathetic and caring professionals) for help in areas in which she doesn't practice. After enduring two months of vertigo following a migraine and not getting any solid recommendations from my neurologist, I googled vertigo specialists and found Dr. Kimberly Bell. Her website and blog is a treasure trove of information including tips you can do at home to get some relief. But the real relief comes with the visit. Dr. Bell offers a holistic approach and runs a battery of physical tests to rule out any underlying neurological conditions before attempting treatment if the condition appears to be BPPV. After the first visit my inner ear "crystals" seem to be back in place, I no longer experience the "whoosh" feeling when lying down or getting up or the out of body feeling when walking. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Bell if you want to get to the root of the problem with someone who not only specializes in vertigo, but is kind and generous with her knowledge.
