Clean and classic. Friendly staff, generally quiet. Wi-Fi was a bit slow. Close to grocery, laundromat, and bus stop into downtown, which is great for Pacific Crest Trail hikers.

Overall, I like the Ranchito motel very much. Ive stayed there about six times now and have always had a good experience. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: Rooms are a good size and reasonably clean. Good location thats close to a grocery store and a couple of fast food places. Refrigerator and microwave in the room. The motel is in a beautiful park like setting with a patio and barbecues that the guests are free to use. Both the heating and the air conditioning work well. Cons: The rooms are old with outdated styling (1970s), which I think adds to the charm of the place, but people expecting a modern room would be disappointed. My bed was worn out and I could feel almost every spring. It was OK for a couple of nights, but it wouldve been a problem if I had to sleep on it any longer than that. One light fixture had missing bulbs. The Wi-Fi is slow and spotty. Sometimes theres a connection and sometimes there isnt. Although it did work more often than not. The walls are thin, you will hear people in the rooms next to you even if theyre just talking at a normal level.
