My father was the owner of a storage unit, and he passed away around the same time ownership changed. My family and I didnt have his key or know where he left it. The new owners not only increased the price by 20 bucks but then went months without finding a maintenance man. I kept asking for someone to cut my father's old lock so I can put a new one on and kept getting the same run around. Saying they dont have anyone that can do that yet but after months of waiting I decided to just pay for a locksmith myself after saving up. He came and cut the lock the same day and the total came close to what I pay for the unit. I then asked if I could get a partial reimbursement or a free month since I had to pay out of pocket for a service that is usually handled by them. Again, after a couple of months of waiting I was told they cant do anything for me. Currently in the process of clearing out the unit, I was very disappointed they couldnt make a small accommodation during this difficult time. UPDATE - The owner gave me a call within an hour of this review and graciously accepted responsibility for the misunderstanding as he didnt know the full story. He kindly offered me 2 month's rent to rectify the situation and for that Im grateful. Great new ownership and leadership displayed! NEW UPDATE - Im paid out until July 9th, and I planned to move out today (May 26th), but they cannot or will not (Im not sure which) pay me back the extra month that I have. So, I'm out 80 dollars and I was told one of the owners would contact me and I haven't heard anything, this was a couple of weeks ago. Terrible management and just lack of communication, I would not recommend this storage place.
