So glad that this visitors center is there. It makes sense and is very helpful. Especially for people who use the SMART Train. Whats confusing is that so much of Petaluma at the moment seems to be in transition. Its an old town, lots of old buildings that need renovation. and, it looks as if its rural agricultural past is merging with a high-tech future, as is most of the nation, if not the world. What strikes me is how underutilized the visitors center is as well as the adjacent arts center. Im glad that officials decided not to tear down the old train station. But I question the planning and efficiency. The nearby bus mall is also underutilized. Europe and Asia are far ahead of us in terms of transportation and infrastructure. The United States is among the wealthiest countries on earth and yet we Americans still dont get it! The SMART train is great! I hope that all continues to go well for it. And, that officials and planners realize transportation and amenities like this are very needed. And at least by this reviewer very much appreciated.
