Windsong of Petaluma is grossly understaffed there is a shortage of  care givers and they are regularly shifted from the resident's floor down to the dining room to become food servers.    This was the case when my fellow resident fell in the hallway and laid on the floor for one-half an hour calling for help,  after i took action again calling for help someone came to her assistance,,,,,,,, no one had heard her they were too busy in dining room.  it is not uncommon for management to loudly to belittle the residents  that reverberates across the dining room we are treated like children here,  this facility is not all rosy and cozy likes to portray itself.  there is a dark side here.  think twice about putting someone you care about in this facility! this is the second review i have  posted the first two i posted have disappeared.  i feel a real responsibility to let the public know the truth about this place.  if you value integrity of medical records and value integrity of distribution of medications, this is not the place for you,

I wish I could say we had a good experience here as we had high hopes for our loved one. After an accident, my father ended up here. To start, they were unable to get him all the medications he needed (life threatening if he didn't have them). He had pretty poor care and ended up getting covid there (not their fault). They left him in bed the entire time he was in quarantine (3 weeks) in a room no bigger than a large bathroom with another roommate, also with covid. The physical therapy department would not see him during this time. He ended up with a bed sore, unable to even move his lower extremities for quite some time afterwards. Also forced to use diapers since he needed assistance to use the toilet and no one would assist him. We have been dealing with covid long enough now to know that with proper precautions, he was safe to continue to treat him. They are not equipt for transitional care at all. We had to fight daily for a plan of care otherwise he would still be in there. Thankfully he is well minded and was able to get himself better and get out of this place. With that said, it is not the nurses fault but rather very poor management. The nursing managers and social worker were frankly quite awful.  This experience was a complete nightmare. Run from this place.
