I have been in need to find a optometrist for a couple of years now. I was putting it off for a couple of years as I did not have a pleasant experience with my last optometrist, who was local and convenient to my home.So I called United Healthcare, my insurance company to find another doctor in my area. My provider recommended Dr. Hile on Morro Road, here in Atascadero. I thought this office was worth a try, since I had decided not to go back to the doctor I had seen previously. I was stressed about having another bad experience. You know how that goes. One bad apple can spoil the rest, and I was very anxious (not in a good way) to try someone new. Well, I made an appointment and to my surprise, when I called, was given an appointment quickly. To my surprise, the person who answered the phone, Makaila, (oh gosh, forgive me if I spelled it wrong) ....was friendly and efficient. I liked her immediately. I thought to myself, "so far so good". However, I still had my reservations. When I arrived st my appointment time, I was impressed by the staff, the atmosphere, and was greeted immediately. Wow..really?They took care of my paperwork, and I was in the doctor's chair in record time, as I do not enjoy the waiting time pre- exams. I thought... again..."so far so good".I was anticipating the let down when you think to yourself "when is the let down, and how long am I going to sit here in the exam room?"You know how that goes. Dr. Hile entered the room within minutes. And not only that, he greeted me with professional enthusiasm. I felt immediate relief. He gave me a thorough exam, allowing me to take my time with reading the letters on the chart. He took time to allow me to be as accurate as possible. The technology he used was modern and sophisticated. I was impressed! After the exam, he pulled up the photos of my eyes and explained at what we were viewing. I have never had such a profound experience as I did with Dr. Hile. So long story short, (too late for that) I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hile, and his staff!I even found the perfect eyeglass frames!Take my word and make an appointment today! You will not be disappointed. This guy is hands down one of the best doctors around. Ignoring the fact that he is hilarious, the way he treats his patients is beyond top notch. He also clearly LOVES what he does and is passionate about optometry. I had an emergency and just walked in to this practice, I dont have vision insurance so it doesnt matter where I go. My treatment that one time has turned my family and I into lifetime patients.

Dr. Hile is excellent and My husband and I really enjoy seeing him for our eye needs. The eyewear area is also great. Melissa helped me leave my comfort zone and pick a cute fun style that brings out my eyes. Backend office not so great. I was changed $240 twice and called them to ask that they refund me the duplicate charge. They told me that the person who handles billing will call me in a hour. Twenty four hours later she calls and tells me they didn't double charge me and I need to work it out with my bank... Whenever I tried to talk she would talk over me till I finally said, "I'm not going to argue with you because you did double charge me and.." Then she proceeded to talk over me and OFFERED to call their credit processor to find out why they are holding a charge. Shouldn't that be your first task? Not the best customer service.

I Highly recommend Dr. Hile. He is very knowledgeable, he listens, and he cares. The office staff used to be not so great, (which Dr. Hile wanted to know about) but they've made some staffing changes and the girls there now are great. My family and I have been going to Dr. Hile for years and wouldn't consider going to someone else.
