Dr. Aaron Epstein MD

The doctors are nice and professional, Ive met Dr. Epstein and Dr. Martin and some of the staff is nice but others have a bit of attitude and look like they dont want to be there. The wait is usually between 15 to 30 mins but my last appointment was ridiculous I waited about 45 minutes and they let someone who probably worked there because she knew the staff go ahead of me and her appointment was 15 mins after mine. So unprofessional!

Made an appointment but was seen nearly an hour later. Whats the point of making an appointment if youre not going to honor it anyway? Totally unprofessional.

I havent even gotten to see Dr. Epstein and I already am stressed and irritated. I made my appointment with him a month ago (has any other mothers noticed the long waits to see a OB/GYN?). I received a text yesterday at 4:22 pm (they close at 4:30 pm) and my appointment was supposed to be today at 1 pm. They said they didnt have approved authorization from my insurance so they needed to reschedule. I called my insurance early this morning & they let me know it would be approved today before my appointment. I called the doctors office and the receptionist informed me I dont have an appointment because they cancelled it. I asked her if thats how their practice is ran where they cancel patients appointments without speaking with them first and she said we send a text or call, a text sent 8 minutes before closing the day before an appointment is extremely agitating especially when youre a high risk pregnancy and made your appointment a month ago. I was excited to see this doctor because I saw all the raving reviews and my first birth was traumatic and scary. I am a couple days away from my 2nd trimester and have had issues for weeks (bleeding, cramping, diagnosed with threatened miscarriage) and havent been able to see a specialist. Being a black woman I dont even trust these medical professionals to care about me or the health of my child and this has left such a bad taste in my mouth. I am so annoyed with this whole process to even see a doctor. I asked when I could be seen since Im high risk and all the receptionist said was maybe we can get you in tomorrow or next week no guarantee. Im frustrated and back to square one.

Dr. Epstein is great and thorough.  His front desk is also efficient.  My only concern is they charge you for your visit prior to the visit and without processing the claim through your insurance.  I was advised that my payment would match my patient responsibility, but it wasn't. I was overcharged by over $130.00 (cost was $700).  It is somewhat annoying have to call and follow up on an overcharge.  Other providers bill you once you receive your patient responsibility after the insurance discount is provided not before processing a claim.

I've come twice to have two ultrasounds done. Both of the doctors I saw were nice. The wait can be 15-20 minutes, but once you get in, the doctor is with you shortly. Parking is convenient, and usually you can get pretty lucky with street parking too. The office is very clean and well-kept, with a smooth check in process.
