We had Chisel and Tool construct a 400 sq ft ADU adjacent to our primary residence. Everything went very smoothly and was completed within the estimated time frame and on budget. We are quite satisfied with the outcome. Very easy to communicate with William and Isaac. Would definitely recommend for your next project.

Chisel & Tool recently completed the design, permitting and construction for our brand new ADU. We were extremely satisfied with their guidance throughout the process, timely responses and overall end product they were able to create. I would definitely recommend Chisel & Tool to anyone looking to build an ADU from conception to completion.

I would like to share our positive experience working with Chisel & Tool, in the hopes that it will help others make the right decision in choosing a design firm/contractor. We worked with the company on our ADU design and permit application. After a few initial phone calls, we met Isaac and William from Chisel & Tool in person, and my husband and I immediately knew they were the right partners for us in this project. Throughout the process, they were always responsive to our questions even after hours and over the weekend. They listened patiently to our asks, and provided their honest feedback based on their professional opinion. Further, both Isaac and WIlliam have a depth of knowledge of the city of Pasadenas building code and its processes, making this a smooth and positive experience. They were a pleasure to work with and we would recommend this company for your design/contracting needs.

Im certainly pleased working with Isaac, William and their crew! They are professionals who aim to please. They were not the highest or lowest of our initial bids, but they were reasonable people I felt I could trust. As with any project, there are set backs and things that dont go as planned (and additional cost beyond the build, but still related adjacently; a way the cost goes up beyond the builders proposal.) But what makes the people at Chisel & Tool different is how they handle the challenges. Im sure there were many frustrations on their end, beyond my full knowledge, but with us, the customer, we talked through solutions if needed and eventually, things worked out. But honestly, there wasnt as many issues as there could have been. Clear communication on both ends are key. So let your wishes be known as soon as possible to avoid headaches. Overall, to build a whole ADU from a garage, they did a fantastic job and Im so pleased!
