TLDR: I have liked my experience here over a couple years, but experience varies based on which building you are in or which unit you choose. Beware units with patios facing the pool. I lived here for a few years and was pleased with the experience. For a more middle-of-the-road apartment community, the rent was cheaper than other nearby communities which led me to lease here. There are probably places nearby that are cheaper (mostly mom-and-pop shops), but to me it's nice having the amenities the Hallie has for a slight increase in rent and in-house maintenance. The Hallie properties tend to be in quieter neighborhoods that are still within walking distance of Arroyo, Colorado, and Lake to take advantage of all Pasadena has to offer. It's also ~10 minutes away from the Del Mar metro station to get downtown. From what I've heard from fellow renters, the Del Mar building is the nicest, followed by the Euclid building, and then the Madison building. I think the amenities are solid. They have kept the pool chairs up to date and regularly clean the barbecues. The hot tub wasn't operational for a while but is working now and has been a plus during the California "winters". The gym equipment is basic but enough for a simple workout. It's kind of frustrating that one of the treadmills in my building has been out of commission for at least a year, if not two years. At least there is another one that works. During my time here, management moved offsite (about a 15 minute drive away) which is inconvenient. However, we have had plenty of support from administrative staff, most notably from Jen early in my tenure and now Marjorie. The maintenance staff is a huge plus at this property. Jose and his team have regularly been prompt in solving maintenance issues, most notably fixing my broken shower handle within 30 minutes in the middle of the night. I will note that one of the first floor tenants' unit regularly got flooded when it rained heavily. It may be worth considering a 2nd or 3rd floor unit other than one that faces the pool. The parking garage has concrete poles, making some of the turns getting in and out really tight, which might be a problem if you have a large car or are not comfortable driving in enclosed spaces. I was able to navigate fine with a plus-sized SUV. It's not the Hallie's fault that there has been a lot of construction recently nearby some of the Hallie complexes, but I think most of the construction is finished. Overall, I would recommend this apartment complex to family and friends.

My experience at the Hallie has been great! Marjorie has been a tremendous help during our stay here. She and the management team are always quick to answer calls and emails. When I needed to switch roommates midway through my lease, Marjorie was a big help and ensured a seamless process with clear communication and always sent text message updates. I really appreciate her assistance and wanted to express my thanks for everything!
