There are no hotels on the American side next to the falls, so this was the next best thing. You can see the rapids from the front of the building and some of the rooms. You are within walking distance to many restaurants, stores, and the American falls. The hotel itself was beautiful, we stayed in the niagra room, which was newly renovated and beautiful. The restaurant offers breakfast every morning for each guest assigned to the room and it did not disappoint. The creme Brule French toast was amazing! Rooms: Our room was beautiful. There was a cheese tray in the fridge when we arrived with doft music playing. The only suggestion that I would make would be the couch is too dmall for a family of 4, we are not big people and it would only comfortably fit my husband and myself. If it was made into a pullout it would be more appropriate for a family who had a boy and a girl and they didn't want to share the bed... that was our experience (our children are 9 and 10). Walkability: It was very close to many shops and restaurants. We didn't drive anywhere, but we also did a tour to see everything. If you want to see the power plant you may need to drive. Food & drinks: The food at the hotel was delicious and service was amazing. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Noteworthy details: One of the oldest business around, very unique, and beautiful. Normally, I go for more modern buildings, but I am glad that I tried this one, it did not disappoint.

The Red Coach Inn was a fantastic experience. We came in the off-season as a stop on our honeymoon and stayed in the Portsmouth room, and thank goodness we did! It was large, spacious, and we came during the offseason and got snowed in. We were grateful for such a cozy space considering we had to spend so much time inside. We didn't realize how much Niagara Falls closes down in the winter (seriously, just about everything was closed) and we'd recommend going at the front or tail end of the open season. But if you want a beautiful winter experience, Niagara is beautiful in the snow, the rooms will keep you warm, and there's plenty of modern amenities that make the old rooms still feel fresh and new. On top of that, the food at the restaurant was absolutely top-notch and I don't think there was a single meal there that me or my wife didn't absolutely love. Top to bottom great experience, the Red Coach Inn is the place to go in Niagara!
