We had carpet installed in March 2023. Paid in full. Day before, we received email from Empire with instructions for us to remove all items that would hinder installation. We complied. Installers showed up at 1 pm. They did not call or text to let us know. Did not have enough carpet. Only enough carpet for 2 rooms and half closet. I called multiple times the service center in LA . No response. Even after leaving urgent messages. They had to return Monday; husband had to take day off. Very inconvenient. Will never use Empire again nor will recommend. I hope anyone considering Empire will heed this message. Service: Carpet installation
Scheduled installation...workers came asking for $4K for one room before work was started. Had to cancel installation due to confusion. I keep getting revised contracts sent 3my email for different amounts. I've been waiting several days to get a confirmation of my cancellation of the contract. The woman who came out for the consultation was very nice and very talkative. I basically knew what I wanted and wanted the price and details, I didn't need all the schmoozing I received. I didn't like the "car salesman" feeling. The 'let me send this to my manager to see what discounts I can get you' 'we want to make sure we get you all the discounts, I'm just waiting for him to respond'. I don't like the game-playing, just give me the price. Everything is computerized, put in the measurements, type and style carpet and give me a price. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. Their price was $400 above the other 2 estimates I'd received but the others had an almost 2 week wait for installation and these guys were next day! I paid the price just to get this out of the way. I was told they would call between 7a-11a with a window for their arrival.....no call, they just arrived at 8:30am. Luckily the room was already empty and I was already up and ready to go. Then come to find out something was wrong with the way the consultant measured the room, so how the rug would be installed was going to be an issue. The installer, who was extremely nice, had a very heavy accent, so it was hard to understand exactly what the issue was, which turns out they had to cut a section in to about 5 pieces, which is less than ideal. They went ahead and installed it and it looks good. I did some pushing and pulling in the section with the pieces and there were no noticeable concerns and its an area that will not have a lot of traffic, so I comfortable with it, only time will tell if it's an issue. But the gentlemen that did the installation were very professional, quick and efficient and left everything looking very clean. I gave a 4 because I'm happy with the product I have and what it looks like now. I wanted to give a 3 because of my spidey senses that are tingling, but that wouldn't really be fair. I have never left a Google review before and felt compelled to leave a review for this company. Weve started the installment process about a month and a half ago and still have no floors. No one from the company will test whats under your carpet or floors, if they think you have asbestos they will charge you extra the day of installation to put cork in between your laminate and asbestos tiles. We had to take our own sample to a lab to get it tested for asbestos. Then they moved our next installment date out another two weeks and when they showed up they had no record or indication that we needed special cork material for the install and left us hanging with once again no floors and house in disarray. We even had all the emails indicating that they were supposed to bring cork material on the day of install showed them the emails and they still are failing to come up with the material to do our install we have already used up too much time with this company please save yourself some effort/ headache and find another one.
