Saint Mary Star of the Sea School

I went here when from preschool all the way to 8th and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. You got really close to your classmates over the years, many of the people I graduated with I went to preschool with! I'm so thankful I went to that school! I graduated in 2006 and I had an amazing education there

Saint Mary's Star of the Sea Elementary School (Oceanside, CA) is an awesome wholesome place to send a child to learn not only reading/writing, mathematics, history, religion, ect, but your child can also learn about God in an open nurturing environment. I am a grandfather of 10 with two more grandkids on the way. Four of my grandkids are currently enrolled at Saint Mary's ranging from pre-school age all the way up to 6th grade and they all love it there. There are many multi generation families who just keep returning to this family oriented elementary school. My wife and I enrolled our three children and  my young sister-in-law into St Mary's  from 1990-2000. Saint Mary's education led them straight into the University of San Diego High School; now know as Cathedral Catholic High School. Whether your child has plans for a Catholic High School or not, Saint Mary's Star of the Sea Elementary School is a place where they can grow into a healthy well rounded child without the pressures of any outside political stuff. Here they are only taught what a child should learn in school, how to read, write, do mathematics correctly, "real" US History, ect.  Oh yeah, lets not forget about God. Religion is taught in every grade level and  the teachers are all very nurturing and caring. So, as a father and grandfather I can only highly recommend Saint Mary's Star of the Sea in Oceanside, CA for any child who truly wants to belong to a community and have fun learning. Grandpa

So I hate to do this but I have to update. We had first thought we found a blessing in an inexpensive, small private school. Well everything was fine until the new front desk woman Ana Maria, and a few other staff/volunteers. Not only did it become impossible to communicate with the front desk. But it rapidly became disorganized, gossipy, and allowed for the front desk woman to be able to allegedly impose her opinions on my child at random. Allegedly telling him some very discouraging things. Also shaming him in front of the CATHOLIC school for his sweater that said "virginity rocks". Saying the word virginity was inappropriate. At a Catholic school. Named after the VIRGIN MARY. One of the staff members became so aggressive to my teenage daughter at pick up that I had to file, and was GIVEN a restraining order. Mind you, it wasn't any conflict they had previously. This woman just began a campaign against her and her twin brother out of literally thin air. It lead to a nightmare that lasted over a year. I couldn't even send them to pick up my youngest without hearing stories of her trying to allegedly run my daughter off the road, allegedly cursing at them, even allegedly GIVING them the middle finger! I would encourage anyone reading this to definitely take a look at the not recommended reviews. We had really thought it was a blessing, but by the end of our time there it felt like a curse. My messages are open to any potential parents who have questions. And yes I did file formal complaints.

My son attends St Mary Star of the Sea School and he loves it there, and so do we as parents. The staff is wonderful.  The academics are top notch! We have been here since Pre-School and this year he will be in 8th Grade.  We really love everything about St Mary Star or the Sea. The campus is beautiful, the teachers are fantastic, and you will absolutely love the Staff and Principal.  It really is just hands down the best school in Oceanside!  If you are looking for a great Catholic School to put your kids in for a great education, you should look into enrolling here.  You will not be disappointed.
