You charge for every little thing when it comes to utilities. This is the 21st century when rent prices are higher than ever before and this management group only cares about the money. Would never rent for this company again. Also a mandatory charge that we have no option to opt out of for a smart home that is only linked to the front door and the thermostat. What a joke. I can do all of that from my phone for free yet you think it is ok to charge for it. Also the utility prices change from month to month with wild fluctuations even tho I was a single man living alone and spent most time time at work. Also you have to pay an additional 45$ to park there if you want a spot (no guest parking after 6pm) and they are serious about towing your car as well! Even if you have a parking pass and park in the open parking your car can still get towed. They also charge and energy fee for what you might ask? I dont know but its 7-8$ a month! They charge for pest control yet a saw spiders everywhere. Dog poop everywhere and all the management does about it is send emails that they will fine you.

No wonder they keep sending reminders to write a review practically right after moving in. I would advise you to wait a few months at least!! I lived at Island Club Apartments from August 2021 - August 2023. I had an upstairs unit that was cute on the inside with high ceilings and updated appliances. The outside of the buildings and overall look of the place are rundown looking. The first subject of concern was how many times they turned the water off in my building within the first couple of months. It was like a every two-week thing - we'd get an email or letter to say the water would be off due to (a broken pipe or whatever else). I found that odd. In October, I came home one evening and noticed a water spot on the ceiling in the kitchen. I contacted maintenance and was informed that there was a "slow water leak in a pipe within the roof" - the project required them to demolition the wall that divided the kitchen from my bathroom! I just moved in a couple months prior, so you can imagine my frustration and alarm that so much was going on within a short period. I was displaced for a couple of nights because the fans were loud and I felt uncomfortable. I reached out Christy Arnold, the Property Manager about some compensation or discount on rent and she didn't respond for several days. Then when she did call me back, she claimed to have responded to me but reception was bad so that may have been why I never received it. Anyways, no credit to rent. Fast forward 9 months and we get new nightmare neighbors below us. These guys smoked weed openly (although Island Club claims to be a smoke-free community), and were extremely loud and obnoxious. They took only one complaint seriously and that's because other neighbors in the building across from us witnessed and heard how loud these guys were and how dismissive and disrespectful they were to me. Complaints about marijuana were ignored or I was told to call security to have a witness...OK, great. They did roof repair work and gave us 1 notice with an estimate of when the work would finish up. Unfortunately, the job was extended due to weather and other factors but the office neglected to notify tenants that they would continue to be abruptly surprised at 8AM with the sounds and vibrations of drills, fallen debris, people talking and footsteps above - for an additional 3 weeks! When I moved out, my final bill included DOUBLE the amount for painting and cleaning that I was told. If someone has lived in a unit for 2 years, isn't it necessary to do some refresh painting, anyway? One PLUS - the maintenance crew is always timely and nice! Sheesh, it was quite the experience living at Island Club Apartments. Good luck!

Hello David, thank you for taking time to leave your review and bringing this to our attention. We understand that allocated monthly expenses may vary for everyone. As such, we are extremely mindful to disclose all charges and fees with customers prior to signing a lease agreement. Island Club values transparency and we can assure you that our community goes over all fees that the resident will pay during move in orientation. Our team also closely monitors the number of resident vehicles at the community to the number of available spaces to ensure lots are not over capacity. One of our goals is to keep our community clean and sanitary, so we are planning to add more dog stations throughout the community to help prevent animal waste from becoming a problem. Being a pet friendly building we have and will continue addressing complaints about dog waste in the common areas and any confirmed violators will be properly communicated with. We encourage working with your community management team if any further questions arise about the above, but also welcome you to reach out to [email protected]. – Shaunice

Hello Keesha, thank you for providing your feedback. We apologize for the frequent water shut offs. A lot of times older buildings do not have individual shut off valves and in order to work on one apartment the whole building would need to be shut off. Island Club is also currently renovating kitchen and baths requiring their plumbing to be replaced. We email our residents of this water shutdown that generally is a three to four hour timeframe. Here at Island Club we will make all efforts to resolve any situation where noise level is louder than acceptable apartment living standards. It is certainly understandable that above average noise can be disruptive, and our team always works with all neighbors involved to address these matters. Resolutions will be looked at and offered as necessary based on review of any reports of loud noise. In order to maintain upkeep and to renovate our buildings construction noise will be a side effect. We thank our residents for their patience during these times. I would love to address your experience here at Island Club more directly but we unfortunately cannot find you in our system by the name you posted under. Please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] so we can discuss further. - Susan
