Better than it was a few years ago. But still sloppy service. I understand barista is not your dream job, but it's still your job, do it the best you can. These young hipsters these days have no sense of accountability

It took me three years to come back and try this place again, after multiple unhappy visits when I used to work in the area. I thought Id give them another chance. My experience was just as bad as I remembered. The staff here is indifferent at best, borderline arrogant, and careless. The food is also not a good value, and I say that understanding that prices have been higher due to inflation. This time, after ordering and waiting about 25 minutes, the server wandered over, set our food down, which was now lukewarm and said oh, those other customers took your number. They were referring to those little number stands they are supposed to hand you, which they have not done in my case. Not to mention, we had taken seats immediately at the counter adjacent to the register. Apparently they gave our number to whomever was behind us in line. We missing a side dish that I had had a conversation with them about while placing the order. When I asked about it, the server looked at me, and said it wasnt on the ticket. And I said, well, I did pay for it, you told me it cost three dollars. Could you please go check? They rolled their eyes and went back to the kitchen. When they came out, without even pausing as they walked by, they said itll be up in a couple of minutes. I asked if I had indeed paid for it, and they nodded their head as they turned their back on me. No apology or offer to comp. Five minutes later, it came out - clearly they had forgotten the item. As for the food, the fried chicken sandwich was incredibly greasy, and the piece of chicken on the Acme brioche only covered about half of the roll. I literally took a bite when I was halfway through the sandwich and realized there was no more chicken on it. My partner had ordered a BLT on Rye toast. The bread was stale, not toasted, and the bacon was overcooked. This place is always jammed with people working on their laptops. Thats another problem there is a core group of regulars, I get it you need a place to sip your coffee and do your work. But good luck trying to find a place to sit. Thats why we ended up at the counter. I watched the sullen staff treat other customers the same way. Completely indifferent, no smiling. They did like to huddle and chat amongst themselves while people waited at the counter, though. Our tab for a chicken sandwich, sided tater tots, BLT and two iced teas with tax and tip was $46. They wont see me again, next week, three years from now, or ever. (note I work in the service industry and Im sympathetic to Customer facing staff)
