        My bathtub/shower faucet decided to break late Friday afternoon before a long weekend (of course). The water was gushing out of the faucet and could not be turned off!! I called a few places recommended by friends and none could come out until the following Tuesday - yikes so much wasted water! Then on Sunday I decided to search yelp and found these amazing plumbers. I called on Sunday afternoon, and Ygnacio, the owner, answered immediately. After explaining my problem and doing a quick analysis over FaceTime, he confirmed he could send someone out to turn the water off, and then within an hour Alberto came to the rescue! Working with some challenging peculiarities of my situation, he quickly assessed and got the water off. So within maybe 2 hours of finding Oakland Rooter on yelp, on a Sunday, my issue was dealt with - and at an affordable price. No weekend overtime! Additionally, Alberto was very respectful of my health (high risk for COVID) and property - he wore a mask at my request and shoe covers which I was so grateful for. Honestly, these guys are awesome! Thanks Albeto and Ygnacio!

        Excellent experience! Jose M. was our plumber and discovered the source of our leak within 5 min. Very hard worker and extremely nice person. Replaced a leaking 4 cast iron pipe deep within the basement ceiling with new PVC fitting. Also installed a shutoff valve in the cold water supply. No more leaks! Highly recommend the company and Jose M.

        Everything about this experience was incredible. Why can't every business be like Oakland Rooter?! They showed up on time, I was late - they came back. Jose had an instinct for plumbing: knew exactly where a drain ought to drain, and indeed dug out the end cap from in the dirt. Found my problem. Told me how to fix it with a part from Home Depot, talked me through how to buy the right one, even showed me an example from his truck. Charged $0. Shook my hand, rode off into the sunset. Next plumbing need I have, I'm calling them. [Update: I called them. They came out, $99 drain special, was as great as expected. Double these five stars.] Service: Drain cleaning

They came out to give me a "free estimate" and proceeded to work on my old leaking water heater by putting a hose on it, making me think this job had started. I had a couple other quotes from people for $1900 to do the work. The tech, Tung, told me it was a "shorty" water heater and would cost more money. I asked repeatedly for him to break out the cost of the parts/heater, the labor and tax but he never did. I signed for it because the work was done but then I saw that they put two sticks under my new water heater. I've called and asked them to explain their total charges at $2175 and they offered me a token $100 refund. Then they phoned me to call me a liar because I later signed the paperwork on the job, and reneged on the refund offer. I'm not sure how I can trust a business that a) started work without my permission, b) never broke out the cost of what I was paying for, c) never explained why they used two sticks below the heater and if that is their permanent solution to the problem. This heater is not rare, and costs $589 at Home Depot. All I want is an explanation and breakdown of costs that is honest.
