Iron & Oak Restaurant and Bar

If you are staying at the Marriott the best part of your stay will be Iron and Oak. The drinks are made to perfection, and are honestly a work of art! My friend had the blue lemon drop which is instagram ready, but do not miss out on the old fashioned! Its one of the best you will ever have and if you request it from bartender Derrick it will arrive in a style unique to San Francisco/Oakland. The drinks are second to only the service from the staff who are educated and make fantastic recommendations. Cheers!

I visited Oakland over the weekend and decided to go to Iron &Oak for a late night meal. I ordered the Chicken Cesar Salad @ the cost of $18 bucks and gave a 20% tip only to discover, after getting back to my hotel, the chicken was dry as a bone! I couldn't believe a chef would let a piece of meat come out of their kitchen in that condition, criminal! Save your money and your time.

As far as hotel restaurants go, this is definitely on the lower end. I got the steak, and it just wasn't good. There's a strange aftertaste with the food. Frankly, the food in the M lounge was superior. I know it comes out of the same kitchen, but regardless it was better. I got the creme brulee tart, and it was awful. Gas station pastries are better.
