Dr. Vernita Marsh & Associates

I highly recommend Vernita Marsh and her group. As a psychologist in Oakland I know many other therapists in the area that I can refer to. Both times I"ve helped close friends find a therapist I've put Dr. Marsh at the top of the list. I referred a close family member to another therapist in her group. As I expected, all three have had great experiences and results. Hearing my two friends share some details of their work with Dr. Marsh has left me even more impressed with her warmth, insights and ability to help people make meaningful change.

Called for an appointment and they took 3 weeks to get back to me, when they DID get back they had availability for about 3 weeks out--so I took that appointment. The DAY BEFORE that appointment the therapist called and cancelled on us. So I wait again for a callback, and they set us up for ANOTHER 2 weeks out. We got a reminder email 24 hours before our appointment (conveniently outside the threshold of their 48 hour cancellation policy). We had a family emergency and I emailed to try and cancel. I emailed because I originally waited 3 weeks for the callback as I mentioned, so I did not trust we would even be able to cancel on time. I call to cancel, they wait until it's too late to hear the message, we get charged anyway. I just got 270 dollars taken from my bank account, which I did try to prevent but felt I had no reliable way to do so. What with the three week wait on a callback. The way this business is run is so abysmally uncaring and NOT patient friendly. PLEASE go to a private practice. DO NOT come here for couple's counseling. They are overburdened and do not even attempt to redirect you to people who actually have the time and resources to care about you. Take note, more than half the positive reviews come from colleagues or other therapists who recommended patients to her, and 90% of them are from 2 to 3 years ago.

Dr. Vernita Marsh is a gem she is a thoughtful and dedicated clinician. I have made referrals to Dr. Marsh for the past decade. Patients that I have referred to her have commented She saved my marriage. Another told me She totally understands me she is a lifesaver. Dr. Marsh and her team of clinicians provide skilled and effective holistic therapy. I feel confident making referrals to Dr. Vernita Marsh & Associates.

Very attentive receptionist! They are very flexible in scheduling. Wish I lived closer. I would def consider them for regular sessions.
