I used Gaia flooring for my kitchen remodeling and I was looking for the same floor for my bathroom remodeling jobs and I was referred to Baila Floors & Dcor Center by Jason Wong of Gaia Flooring Inc. I was happy to see that Baila Floors & Dcor Center was located in Oakland. Upon my arrival, Michael Pinnock greeted me. Michael was very nice & educated about the product I was looking for and to my surprise, he ordered it for me that day. I was quite in awe that Baila Floors & Dcor Center actually carried more than flooring and I was surprised that the showroom was a hidden gem in Oakland. I ended up purchasing tile for my new bathroom shower walls and mosaic tile for my shower floor; it was one stop shopping for me once I realized just how equipped Baila Floors & Dcor Center was. Michael delivered every item exactly on time and offered to deliver the items to my home. I plan to return for my next home improvement project and I highly recommend Baila Floors & Dcor Center. Michael went beyond the call of duty. Thank you Michael.

I shopped around for flooring, originally on a mission to get vinyl plank for a major house addition, and through that process, I learned that what mattered to me most was was service, knowledge, and support, and most stores just didn't measure up in this regard. But Baila was different. It was clear to me that Michael cared about the products on offer, stocked good brands he stands behind, and was willing to steer me away from brands that were showing consistent problems with installation. After a couple of visits to look at the waterproof (vinyl) flooring (all very nice), I decided that putting plastic floors down in my old house was not going to make me -- or the environment -- happy long term, so I switched gears and visited the store a couple more times to look at the engineered hardwood. When it came time to make a decision, Michael coached me through narrowing the choices, sent me home with five samples, and gave me what felt like a great deal on my final choice. Bonus: arrive after 3PM on a Friday for an eye-opening display of Oakland's finest street walkers!

We hired Michael Pinnock to replace our kitchen floor with new tile. After visiting several other tile stores without much luck, we met Michael at Baila Floors. Based on samples of our birch cabinet doors, countertop and backsplash materials, kitchen paint, along with pictures of the overall kitchen space, he quickly narrowed down our choices to three viable possibilities. He then came to our home where we agreed that one of the three worked perfectly. He provided a detailed estimate that was competitive with others. Once we approved the plan, he ordered the tile and hired and managed the team of skilled tile installers. He researched and located pre-finished birch boards to replace our toe kicks. He helped us select a suitable grout color. He made sure that the work was done to his high standards and ensured we had extra tile on hand at end of the project. Michael was a pleasure to work with. He was always professional. He was determined to make sure we were happy with the final results. We have since received complements on the finished product.
