The Dental Touch Oakland

DO NOT GO HERE. Please read my whole review. A friend just asked me Who was that dentist in Oakland who scammed you so I can avoid going? which led me to look back through my Yelp reviews to find the name and it was this dentist. When I saw on Google I hadnt reviewed I felt I needed to. On Yelp all of the reviews are either 5 stars great family dentist or 1 star I got scammed. They told me I was in network and then charged me thousands of dollars. I had amazing dental insurance so when I read those 1 star reviews I ignored them and figured the people must have made some mistake. They did not. I became a victim of the same issue. Went in and was told my insurance was in network and was given a $0 quote for the work. Got x rays done and was told I had 3 cavities. I had never had a cavity in my life so I was surprised. I called my mom and said do you think I should get a second opinion and she responded depends on how much you trust him. I regret trusting this doctor. I got the fillings done and it took forever truly felt like they forgot they were working on me. The whole thing felt weird. My tooth hurt like hell but I figured it would wear off. It hurt for days and I finally called back to ask if I should come back in because something felt wrong. They said Yes but you have to pay your outstanding balance of ~$2000 first. I was shocked. Told them there must be a mistake. Long story short from there on out the receptionist would call me to demand the money but not provided any explanation regarding why I needed to pay other than you are out of network and gave us your credit card so we are just going to bill you. They billed me. I called repeatedly asking to speak to the doctor and it took 5+ months to get a call back. When he finally called all he said was I didnt do the work on you it was the other dentist youll have to take it up with him. Maybe he will comp you his time. No acknowledgement whatsoever that they were the ones in the wrong. Amidst all of this my mouth hurt for weeks so I literally went home to my childhood dentist to get it fixed. He said the fillings werent well done and were surprisingly big considering I had no history of cavities. He called to request the x rays from The Dental Touch and they never sent them making me wonder if I ever even had cavities in the first place. It has been 7 years since this incident and I have never had a single cavity since. Save yourself the money and stress. Dont go here.

I never want to go to anybody else but Dr. Marjan. She is extremely thorough and caring ,I can tell that there is a genuine passion for what she is doing. I mean who really wants to go to the dentist? It is one of those things that you dread doing , but you understand that you have to do. Having someone like Dr. Marjan takes all of that stress away. Thank you and the team for all that you do!

I had an amazing experience! Dr. Prat is a true pro and very gentle, he explained the work I needed clearly. His assistant Vin was so kind and helped me be at ease. The front desk was delightful, Trish, Selena and Rob are all so warm and welcoming. They went over my insurance coverage in detail to help me understand what would be covered. I would definitely recommend this office!

Went in for what excruciating tooth pain. The woman doctor I saw name is Marjin Motallebi. She couldn't find anything wrong with my teeth. So she chastised me about needing teeth cleaned. Said all pain I was having was from that. When I said I didn't think that was it she said, well I'm not giving you any pain pills. I never asked for any. Got home and discovered shingles behind my ear. That's what the pain was from. She would ask questions and then talk over my answers. Couldn't get a word in. Told her the pain was in the back of my mouth. She X-rays the front. Saying she won't give me any pain pills out of the blue kinda says where her head was. I was faking I guess. She was in such a bossy rush I recommend going elsewhere. So it wasn't needing teeth cleaned it was shingles. Wouldn't have helped those one bit to clean my teeth. Sheesh.

I wish I would have found Dr. Pratt years ago. He saved my teeth without trying to upsale me. My teeth are not great but I left feeling better and looking better than I ever have leaving a dentist office. He was so gentle and kind and didn't make me feel embarrased for all the work I've had done over the years. The office is absolutely beautiful and clean. With state of the art equipment my x-rays were very clear to see what was needed.The front end staff was all so very kind and clear about insurance coverage and my portion of cost. I know going to the dentist isn't cheap. I've had my fair share of subpar work and undisclosed cost. But not here. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Pratt and front desk staff. I ask for names because your'e such a great team. Selena, Trish and Rob I appreciated all your help answering all my questions and being patient with me.
