    If you want a modern apartment, good amenities, and an awesome apartment management that is super communicative and genuinely care about its residents, look no further! Artizan is the place to be. My husband and I were living next door at Orion prior to our move to Artizan. We love the Brooklyn Basin areaeasily accessible (its right off the freeway), beautiful view (its a respite from the city with the waterfront), super dog friendly, and we love our neighbors we got to know here. So we didnt want to move too far, but we absolutely hated the apartment management over at Orion. As our lease was coming to an end, we decided to check out Artizan, and we not only were happy with the units we saw but also loved the leasing office/apartment management staff. Everyone that we interacted with were super friendly and helpful. We especially loved Natehe is down-to-earth and compassionate, and he really tries to help you out in the best way that he can. We were in a rush when we were looking for a new apartment to move to, and he even stayed after his normal business hours to help us figure out our lease details. Even before we were residents, we received that kind of care from Nate. Long story short, after touring couple of units and meeting Nate, we had no problem applying and signing a lease because we were confident that well be well taken care of by the team at Artizan. The apartment unit is super nice with good appliances including AC (this is a must during the summer; some apartments in the area does not have AC), and the walls are pretty thick, so we don't really hear our next door neighbors when we are inside my apartment unless we are in the hallway. We havent had any maintenance issues with our unit (probably a good thing), but the maintenance guy here (Freddy) is super friendly and says hi to you, and I definitely see him at work whenever the garage door is down. The management is super active in communication with whatever that goes onwhether its good things or bad things, and we appreciate it all. They are always super responsive whenever we e-mail them, and they make sure that our concerns are addressed. Around Christmas season, they even had a gift wrapping station with amazing selection of gift wraps, bows, etc. and yummy coffee and hot chocolate (shouout to Julia). I was in my third trimester of pregnancy when I moved into Artizan, and after coming home with our baby girl, Artizan management even had a card with a sweet note to congratulate us that included a Starbucks gift card (they knew we needed caffeine lol) and a bag of chocolate! Now that is a management that genuinely cares about its residents. Our lease is ending, so we will have to extend our lease for another couple of months. We are more than happy to extend our lease with Artizan, and we are so thankful for Nate and his team here!

    Let me start by saying I can only speak from my own personal experience of living at the Artizan. Julia, Nate & Freddy are by far the most amazing team I have ever experienced. They are so attentive, detail oriented and the most kindest people I've encountered living in a community building. Each of them have gone so above and beyond in any matter I needed help with, especially being new to the area from answering emails in a timely manner, being available for walk in questions, timely maintenance requests and even in one off situations have been so helpful (i.e. Nate himself acquired my jewelry from my bathroom sink when maintenance was on holiday)! Julia has helped me so much before I was even a resident and honestly plays a part of what has kept me here through two leases. She is so kind and has residents best interests at heart. All-star team without a doubt! In terms of living, I have lived in two different layouts. I love the layouts of floor plans offered to fit your needs and wants and how warm/cozy the apartments are made to feel with warm tones in cabinetry and flooring. They also have stainless steel, smart appliances. Any tickets for maintenance Freddy, has always filled them quite quickly with resolves to my issues. The garage has broken quite a few times (you use a garage button fob to get in/sensors to get out) but the team behind the scenes were very open and transparent about looking for better resolves when asked about it. Amenities are nice and the building is well kept from cleaners to gardeners. Location isn't central but I like it because it's quiet and "out of the way" but close enough to things like Jack London Square, a 5 min drive from Lake Merritt, and easy/quick access to the highway! The area is beautiful. The waterfront offers a couple food spots and a coffee shop. Events happen on the pier/ampitheatre where people can enjoy music and food. Construction is going on around this area a lot but the apartment in my opinion stays relatively quiet. There have been some car break-ins on the street parking but very minimal compared to a lot of areas. Security scales the area throughout the day and the building has its own during specific hours of the night. Overall, I have enjoyed my time at the Artizan! I'm very grateful for the team and all their efforts in making sure residents needs are met and how beautiful the apartment is!

    Im honestly writing to agree with everything else that other residents have written about the parking garage situation at this apartment. My car got stolen from the apartment garage and the apartment is doing their best to avoid responsibility. Even though every time I pass by the garage door is left open for a long time (yes, Ive timed it multiple times and the garage was even open after I stopped timing ) even after my car theft occurred. This is even more alarming seeing that there is easy access into the building from an open garage, this security is compromised. Management doesnt do a good job of notifying residents of these issues either. For instance, no notice has gone out to the general residents since my car was stolen which I think is a bare minimum management can do. Otherwise the apartment is pretty and new but management can do better especially concerning safety

My husband and I were living next door at Orion prior to our move to Artizan. So we didnt want to move too far, but we absolutely hated the apartment management over at Orion.
As our lease was coming to an end, we decided to check out Artizan, and we not only were happy with the units we saw but also loved the leasing office/apartment management staff.
